Why not?
I guess you see that very well yourself: They were rare, you had to have LUCK to obtain one, and it wasnt guaranteed. Most of their price was made up from the value of the time spent for looking said item, and not the stats of the item. Thats why the best ones were sold way above the second best ones in price, and not proportional to their stats.
Rare items are just that: RARE. Tech2 items are no way rare, as everyone with a BPO can manufacture some anytime.
While miner IIs were rare, they sold for millions. Now they can be bought for 80-120k each. Same will happen with other tech2 items. The more people get the BPOs, the more people have the items they were looking for, demand will be limited to the casual customer, who is not looking after the most LEET equipment at all cost, but considers price vs performance as well.

The stats are the same. Nobody really complained at 5million isk for 5 or 6 months. What changed about the item?
Nothing changed at all. Its simply an insipid attitude in EVE that people shouldn''t make money from building things.
See above. Tech 2 can be manufactured, and as that, the good stats are paired with massive ammounts of said module, and virtually no time involved in aquireing them - at least nothing compared to how rare TL1 meta items were / are.

There is a fundamental reason why Tech2 items aren't supposed to be cheap cheerful and widespread, its easy to work out why, it's part of CCPs design why and the start of BPC production indicates it isnt working.
I said the same for Tech1 - and the same will happen to Tech2. This was supposed to be the birth of the player economies, manufacturing back onto solid foundations which made it worthwhile, not undercut by every person being able to build every item via BPCs.
Its just a matter of definition. Whats cheap and whats expensive? Competition pushes the prices down to the level where people start to fall out from the system, unable to keep up. At some point the supply will low enough so prices start rising again. Its the endless loop of EVE market.

The widespread use of BPCs is like a drug, its so widespread and insipid that nobody even remembers what the economy is supposed to be like.
BPCs need to go or be severely restricted/inhibited. Until that happens there will never be a solid manufacturing economy.
On topic then:
Tech 1 BPC market: - you can get sales with virtually no work - It lowers the demand for manufactured goods, as buying a BPC and building yourself is cheaper
I dont think its such a big issue: - Training PE5 is not that easy as it seems, im sure only a handful of true manufacturers have that, and without PE5 you are better off buying the actual product than the BPC - BPOs have to be researched before you'll be able to churn out BPCs from it, and that takes a lot of time. Effective research also requires specialized skills, or it takes even longer. - BPOs cost a lot, again limiting the ammount of people actally able to start such a business. - BPCs take time to create, and that time can be significant for large items. - Aquiring the resources to produce the item you are looking for is just as hard for the BPC owner as it is for the original manufacturer, who decided to sell BPCs instead of manufacture the item. This again limits the ammount of people who'll choose BPCs over manufactured stuff.
I could give some more points im sure, but it all comes down to one thing: CCP has some rather effective brakes built into the BPC market, which is why you can only see a handful of large corps effectively doing serious BPC sales.
Buying stuff from the market is easier, faster, and sometimes even cheaper than buying a BPC.
Tech 2 BPC market: You make a fool of yourself for complaining about that. If someone, then you should know how harsh skill requirements those BPs have. Only a few people will ever be able to manufacture the items from those BPCs, so i see no reason why anyone would complain about tl2 BPCs. Additionally, all the above i described for TL1 applies to TL2 as well.
