Does anyone fly the Arazu? I haven't seen any Recent posts. I was wondering how it fares vs other recons?

The Arazu is still a very good ship.
With 3 damps and good skills for them, you'll still damp a battleship with a single sensor booster below 30km and can happily scram it from that range. .

I am wondering about the effectiveness of this ship post-damp nerf as well.

One BS. Yes. And then you just hope that your cap holds longer than his (or that your friends arrive) when he starts trying to close the range.
Arazu is currently a very niche ship. It's useful as support to ECM ships, locking time increaser against spider tanking groups and first tackler against solo ships which have been probed out. That's about it.
If you can fly it, you can think of some situations where it can be semi-useful. If you cannot, don't bother training for it, go for Falcon or Rapier. -- Gradient forum |

Edited by: General Coochie on 29/02/2008 10:42:35 Dampeners have 45km optimal 90 km falloff max skilled. So any long range outside of 150km, won't be affected much by your damps. Basicly you are effective somewhere between 30-90km. But not much PvP happen in that range.
For solo don't bother, you die more then you kill thats for sure especially against other T2 cruisers.
Few time I brought lachesis and arazu to gangs, I felt like:
"Muhahahha I'm dampening you to hell"! reply: "Lulz I'm killing your friends anyway"
Sure it can tackle ppl, warp cloaked and probe. Thats about it. Add locking time to ppl getting ECMed, but another falcon jamming would be a lot better in the gang. Falcon can also protect it self should someone get close to it. If someone gets under your damps, you are pretty much dead and in the age of nano ship that happens quite easily.
