You're sure you have an Afterburner (not a MWD) fitted?
The skill reduces the energy requirement by 10% per level, so at level 1, you only need 90% of the capacitor cost, level 2, 80%, etc. With a 100MN AB 1, the energy cost goes down from 320cap to 160cap with the skill at 5.

Do Show info on an AB on the market (which shows basic one, without any skills) and Show info on same AB that is fitted to your ship.

The skill that makes AB more efficient doesn't reduce cap usage. Instead, it makes each activation cycle last 1 second longer. Thus with no skill you get 10 seconds for X cap, but with skil 4 you get 14 seconds for X cap (the same amount of cap).

Sorry Salpad, but you're wrong ... there are several skills affecting Afterburners :
Afterburner : +10% duration per skill level (that's the one you quoted).
Fuel Conservation : 10% reduction in afterburner capacitor needs per skill level. (works fine BTW)
Acceleration Control : +10% speed boost for ABs and MWDs per level.
And finally Navigation, that boosts the base speed of ours ships, and since speed boosts are a "+x%" of the base speed, it also indirectly affects ABs.

"Afterburner : +10% duration per skill level (that's the one you quoted)."
I've always wondered whether or not that +10% duration also applied to MWD. After all, MWD are in the "Afterburner" group. Does anybody know? |

No, and Fuel Conservation does not apply to MicroWarpdrives either.
Acceleration Control does apply to both however; it specifically lists both Afterburners and MicroWarpdrives. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |
