I apologize if this has been said a dozen times. I did a search and couldn't quite find what I was looking for. So here's my deal:
I run two accounts, two clients. I installed 2 clients, one in ..\CCP\EVE1 and the other one in ..\CCP\EVE2. When starting the game, I have 2 icons, EVE1 & EVE2, each one uses it's .exe file from it's own directory. Did I do this right? Or is there some .ini file I need to adjust?
Before Trinity, things weren't bad, no I haven't downloaded the premium content, as my computer won't run it. But when there is an update or patch, I must download it twice, whenever I open each client for the 1st time on patch day. I don't run a fast computer by far: AMD 64 3800 1GB RAM with intergrated NVIDIA 6150. The game runs pretty smooth on one client, however with two, and only after Trinity, I'm getting serious lag and black load screens that take several minutes to exit stations.
It appears that my EVE clients are both chasing after the same files on my HD. Even though they are in 2 different folders, do I need to change something to make sure EVE2 only uses things from EVE2 folder? B/C when I clear my cache on one client, the other one clears also.
Sorry for the long ramble, just tyring to give a good explanation. Hope someone can help

/end /LUA:OFF slap that on your short cuts.
also - ingame - do esc | display & graphics | advanced settings | present Interval | interval one
you may want to turn down a few settings also with that video card.
I myself run 1 install with the Userprofile hack - I have several setup for alts | direct settings etc -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve & Portrait Server

putting this on the end of the shortcut in the "target" window, I just get an error saying that path doesn't exist. Am I putting it in the wrong place?
BTW, thanks for the info

Another thing...
I keep seeing about setting my prefs.ini file. That file doesn't exist on my computer, I've searched over and over again, with the hidden files searched as well.
Is this the prefs file for XP or for EVE? And speaking of EVE, where's the cache folders and files? Before REV I can remember them being in the EVE folder, now nothing. Except that little folder in my documents, but that's not the cache everyone including myself are talking about.
I really don't know why Mr. Gates can't make an OS that leaves my files in normal directories instead of his/her/it's documents and settings. B/C of stupid Compaq I have an Admin, a Master, My name, and a Default "Documents and Settings" folder. Even though I only use the Admin account.
So please where is this prefs.ini file and the EVE cache folders?

Right click on the shortcut |properties "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE.ok\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF ^ if you have spaces in the path C:\eve\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF ^ if you don't
this will make the cache folders go under the eve folder [if you are on Vista then eve may not be able to write to the program files folder]
