I'm not getting your post, the whole a turret gives a fixed amount of damage no matter how many you fit and damage mods give less depending how many you use,is exactly what makes it interesting to balance out what it is you want from your ship. If my armour tanking uses so much grid I can only fit 4 425s without using RCUs and a single RCU would allow me to use 5, using a RCU and that 5th 425 would be more effective then using a damage mod. And if I do more damage using only 7 of my hislots then I do using all 8, then why in heavens name would I wanna insist on using all 8? ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

It isn't that I don't like discussing actual setups or anything but there's already a really big thread for that. This thread was intended more like a summary of things to keep in mind when thinking up setups. And it's no more then that, if you can make a blasterthron with 5 RCUs work for you, then power to yah. And tnx I liked writing it ( especially since my boss paid me too write it up. Just don't tell him )
Another thing about using RCUs If you're using a combination of RCUs and relays and got a bit of CPU left to play with replacing 1 RCU and 1 relay with 2x PDS is a good idea. You get the same grid a bit more cap recharge and a bit more shield. And another thing to consider is that after fitting everything you end up with some spare grid try replacing a RCU with a PDS and see if everything still fits. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Or maybe the grid requirements of energy turrets need to be reduced and the Apoc's grid "nerfed" to 12500?
That would stop people compensating for the lack of damage bonuses by putting in an extra projectile or hybrid turret.
As it is, the Apoc is arguably the most versatile Bship in the turret type department. The high cap usage of lasers and the widespread use of EM and Thermal shield hardeners are only a problem to those who are very strict role-players or unable to adapt at all.
Too bad I don't have any Amarr piloting skills whatsoever
so armageddon and apoc have same grid, good thinking :>

so how does a blasterthrone beat an blasterapoc, that's what i'd really like to know, since the apoc is: Quote: Shortrange weaponry and energy neutralizers. This is scary ****, he will outlast you, he's got a lot more cap then you do, more armour and especially if he's using lasers he will do a lot of damage. Thankfully Apoc pilots don't have the balls or the brain to do this. They're better at whining how their tachyons suck.
im qourious how a megathron pilot can beat that? -nove

as Blastertron user i can say: ARMOR TANKING rules. i wont tell you how as it tok me pretty long and lotsa cash to finally build that ship.
only that much: 10K+ armor,6 ions, 2 standard ML's NO grid upgrades NO cpu upgrades NO tracking computer NO problem to take fire from 3-4 BS for about 4 mins. belive it or not.
for that Blaster-APOC....would be a nice fight to try on.
for blaster-ships in general: if u get close, the target is dead. if you cant get close, run. -----------------------------
