Hi
I m intrested in armour tanking so i dont care about shields. With this assumption in mind and also not including costs, why use DC II over EANM II? with DC II i get 15% armour resistence on all damage and with EANM II i get 20%.
so m i missing something here?

Because a DCUt2 gives you 60% hull resists.

With armour compensations, the EANM gives you typically 24% armour resistances, actually, since most people train armour compensations to IV and leave it at that.
The reason DC IIs are extensively fitted are twofold: (a) It's not stacking penalized with any shield resist/armour resist things, meaning if you have two EANMs you still get the full 15% armour resistance. A DC II is on par with a third EANM due to stacking penalities on EANMs, armour-resist wise.
(b) The sum of extra resists on shields, armour and especially structure gives you a lot more effective HP. Given you sometimes (often) will not be able to tank incoming damage, the extra HP can be extremely useful and life-saving.
While for tri-hardened setups you might lose out on fitting a DC II instead of a EANM II in the last slot tank-wise, you'll get more effective HP typically, which more then makes up for it. Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

EANMs get stack-nerfed, DC resists ignore any stack-nerfs. 3x EANM-II is worse than 2x EANM-II plus DC-II, even at all L5 compensation skills (3rd EANM-II would only be granting about 14.25% resists, the DC grants 15%, plus the hull and shield resists).

few more questions: 1. if i stack 2 DC II or more, do i get penelized? 2. if i use kinetic, thermal, explosive hardners and then EANM do i get penelized and by how much? 3. whats the penalty on the second module and on the third?

can't run 2 DC
Signature removed. Too large and flashing signatures are not really permitted. Navigator |

You can have only one DC. |

What the others said...
Also, if you use EFT fit a DCU2 and an EANM2 and then click the DCU on and off to see the huge difference it makes to the Effective HP figure compared to the EANM. It makes a huge difference. --------- I had something important to say here but CCP decided in thier infinite wisdom to keep this space as small as possible. Thanks. |
