à could go in to siege mode and destroy POSes with a single cycle by themselves? Would that possibly lessen the grind of POS warfare? Would that put more Titans on the field of battle and vulnerable to attack? Would that increase or decrease the blob?
Discuss please.

It would make the Titans ridiculously overpowered, as you could fairly quickly clear out all POS's in an entire systems using just your Titan. In the least, you could kill a POS every hour or so. Also, woulnd't it make Dreads a little obsolete?
Doomsday should in no way be more efficient than it already is.

You are right, I kind of agree. But don't you think that it's kind of backwards now?
Why can dread kill a pos faster then a titan? Titans should be an all powerful one-strike weapon. Maybe take away doomsday all together and make them more in to POS killers. Then revamp dreads to be more of a combat ship, an upgrade of battleship for the new generation capital warfare and not only for POS killing. That would make more sense, donÆt you think? And it would also expose more Titans on the battlefield, more people would need to use them to control space and make a more interesting game for all, instead of this constant blob warfare.
To the goons, IÆm just asking a question to discus a better gaming for everyone. Is that not allowed here or what? If you canÆt respond in civilized manner, maybe you need to take a break from the game. Thanks Navigator.

Why change two ships to be like each other? Titans/ms need a buff, but they don't need their roles swapped with dreads.

Titans are of the carrier line of ships, dreads are, well, dreads. If anything another class of ship should be brought out in the dreadnaught skill line like carriers go onto MS's then titans. How about a new dreadnaught with equal or more cost as an MS with the special ability to bypass all resistances on it's target when in siege, req dreadnaught 5 etc?

Times have changed. Game can not handle 800+ ships in one system shooting POSes or PVP. If changing two ships makes a better game for everyone, would that be bad?

Why would less people go to siege just because theres a titan sieging too? All it would do is make the siege go faster. 族---族

No need for this, to speed up pos warfare why not bring out tier 2 dreadnaughts.

Next time you think you have an interesting and good idea for this game, please remember that it's a terrible idea that you should just keep to yourself so that nobody thinks you're stupid

Titans are more like Capital Command Ships, Dreadnoughts are more like Capital Battleships. Command Ships can shoot at stuff, but their main jobs are to provide fleet support and stay alive while doing it. Battleships are meant primairly to shoot at other battleships and other things things bigger than them (i.e. POSes, Capital ships).
The fact that a Titan is bigger, more expensive, and harder to train for than a Dreadnought doesn't mean that the Titan should perform the Dreadnought's function. Both of their roles are clearly defined, even if the Dreadnought's role is annoyingly narrow. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

I think this is a good idea, but only if the normal DD ability for Titans is removed completely from the game at the same time.

Not IMO mate.
Firstly if someone has a titan it still needs to be where it can be shot, Titans atm are not in harms way that much, they could make it siege and make it to the power for 4 dreads in siege. 1 cycle reienforce is silly but 3 is not so bad.

Interesting idea, however I think if that was done, the Titan would be more of an I-WIN button than it already is. Generally speaking if you toss a Titan into the mix of a battle, most alliances will disengage/Hide in the POS's unless they have 1-2 titans of their own. Most Cap ship fleets of say 20-30 Carriers and Dreads wont engage a Titan, as it invariably has a huge Cap support fleet of its own kicking around in the same system.
Anyhoo, I think the Titan role is fine where it is.

well, titans are more of a super frontline logistics platform than a carrier proper.
and dreads are siege tools.
as for tier2 dreads, I think that with the incoming planet interaction, we might see a planet destroyer-type dreadnaught. ---

What I'm confused about is why Titans can now be tackled in low sec by heavy dictors and pinned in place.
I can unserstand moms now being vul;nerable to warp srambling vua heavy dictors due to them still retaining their offensive capability but Titans?
They cannot use the DDD in low sec, their guns are incapable of hitting a heavy dictor and 5 drones aint gonna do much so...
Yeah there should be a bit of risk but lets be honest, titans (considering their massive investment both in isk and more importantly time) hould not be so vulnerable in low sec and so defencless at the same time. Biggest ship in game being defenceless?

Why is a titan in low sec in the first place you have to ask your self that. When it's I win button does not work there, but as someone said they can get freighters into low sec and out just have a large pos setup and logistic's are worked out.
Titan role is just fine as it is. They are command ships/logistic ships sometimes if right capital fleet support(4 motherships 10 carriers) that are to be with the titan all the time then they are front line ships.(first strike)

i think titans should have a fair chance on its own against a Heavy interdictor. If i understand this right, a single heavy interdictor can hold a titan down forever. Thats a little too harsh. Give titan ability to use 10 drones. or 15, give it some selfdefense against smaller vessels
