What kind of damage types do minmatar do usually?
I'll give you a hint. It's something to do with the recent amarr buff.

LoL Chronotis takes a defensive stance and kindly tells those of us who think this patch is being brought to us by mediocre development, to shove it up our bums.
I think CCP needs a balancing change to their staffing starting with you. Hopefully you'll understand the big picture though...
Now flaming and mud slinging aside.
This patch is mediocre at best. Eventually we'll get over this and adapt but there were other options and i'm a fan of developers that follow the "keep it simple stupid" approach. Otherwise you might wind up with another "boot.ini" fiasco.
Not your best effort devs. Ballsy, but most definitely not your best work.
Personally, I think you should spend more time quashing bugs. ------------------------------------------------- **** You're out of your mind!

What damage type does a Minmatar SB do ? EMP ammo does mainly EM and Explosive damage.. Which resists are being lowered ? All Projectile T2 ammo, Fusion, Carbonized Lead all does atleast 50% or more explosive damage, now unless every ship fought doesnt have shields, lowering explosive resists seems like a Minmatar buff to me.
Oh, and bring on the *****s!

Dev speaks the truth.
It's literally impossible to adjust play balance without both nerfing something and boosting something. People who whine about "omg they're nerfing x" need to just grow up and deal with it. Play balancing is essential in an MMORPG and you should be grateful and thankful for the constant care and attention that Devs give to stuff like this. If you don't like nerfs then best to give up EVE and play a game that isn't updated with new patches frequently. Maybe play the first Doom, I've heard a rumour that id software have stopped patching it recently.
Yes it is, just give the ships you need to boost their bonuses and don't touch defenses.. If you want to boost the raptor, don't eat it's powergrid, add to it.. and so on.. makes sense?

CCP shouldn't have claimed this patch to be "nerf free".
Making such a claim only brings out more negativity in the public. When people look at the patch changes and look at the "nerf free" claim it brings a feeling of betrayal, distrust, dissappointment. The players are already hurt, why hurt them more by saying such things?
Seriously, CCP image would have been better off if they didn't make any claims about the patch, asides from "it's good balancing."
And as far as balancing goes, I have already writen logical analysis of the 10% resistence nerfing in Game Dev forum. It shows that there is no sound logical connection, in terms of game balance, between armor EM resistence and shield explosive resistence. The "good" of this balance change is questionable at best. You'd want to do everything to avoid brining attention to this patch, just keep quiet and make it as painless as possible. Logical reason is not on CCP's side here. I'm sorry

How can something that nerfs all ships accross the board and therefor undoes the hps boost and therefor hits ships that didnt get hps love harder be considered a boost in any sense. It's the biggest nerf to hit the game since well ever. It isnt tought out either. It makes OMNI tanks the only viable resist tank. It never took NPCing into account (which will hurt lowskilled players most but also has great effect on the possibility to run high end plexes). It doesnt effect everybody equally (hits gallente most, then amarr, then caladari and then minimatar). The reasoning behind the change can be achieved in other ways (through giving love) then by what is done (assuming the reasoning is correct). But most importantly it doesn't achieve what it is intended to achieve without lots of unwanted side effects, it rips into the core of the game, the very essence of what the game is build on, what the modules are designed around, how ships are desigend, how racial balance is designed, goes against the philosophy of making fights last longer, etc.
No matter the amount of boosts; Trinity 1.1 is the biggest nerf patch ever, due to this and only this change on itself. Testing proofs it, yet CCP has made their mind up and refuses to refute the proofs laid upon them. It's about ego, ego of the guy or team that came up with this idea. Ego and designers is something that has proven to be a disaster historicly.
When everybody drinks alcohol and alcohol is proven to be an drug, then alcohol is still a drug even if you lower the alcohol percentage in all beers by 10%.
TBH I see this mostly as a buff, 'speacally for minmatar. <3 EMP ammo.
Also, In my opinion, the stacking nerf to damage mods was the biggest nerf ever. That or Kessies/caracals not being able to fit cruise/torps any more :P
Also, minmatar take the most damage from this change, going from 70% - >60% resists hurts a lot more than 60% --> 50%.
Last point, Is there anyone who DOESN'T OMNI tank in PvP anyways? Seriously, Show me the guy who only fits kin/therm hardeners because he plans on only fighting gallente ships for the day. This helps solve the stupidly high EM resist on OMNI armor tanks, if no one fit 2-3xEANM + DC there wouldn't be much need for this change in the first place.
Last wolf, can you explain how does 70-->60 hurt more than 60-->50? in my mind it's just the other way around as you now have to actually pay special attention to your expl on shields, 60 on armor in EM is still much better than 50% on expl on shields. Also where you have passive EANMIIs on armor to make up for your 60% no in EM you do not have that with shields, i.e. you need to fit a slot just for expl if you decide to tank it, which you now should, or ofc go active tank and use inv IIs.. which still eats cap and goes off if nossed..

If this is a minmatar buff, it's an small one. Explosive is their primary damage type and considering how rare shield tanking is in PvP, I don't think this will affect them much. In addition, lowering base EM resistances affects them the most since the primary resistance boost on their T2 ships is EM. ---------------- Tarminic - 33 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79 |

The big picture? How about this for the big picture Fix the netcode, change mechanics to prevent node death and negative gameplay experiences when people blob, fix dock range, get ready for another 20k trial accounts and all their obnoxious BS when steam kicks in full throttle. Fix your automated responses for ship losses even when your companie's equipment fails.
Quit wasting your time over 10% of this and 4% of that especially when you boosted HP like a year ago is ridiculous. Quit with the glorious turret effects that are going to be so uber and shiney, which will only get turned off. None of these changes matter when you get 100 people together and the grid becomes more like an amoeba, i would start with making it better for everyone.
All you people out there that think these issues don't pertain to you are kidding yourselfs. Jita wasn't always like it is, keep adding more people, keep fattening the bottom line and it will bust like a balloon at some point.

Going from 70% to 60% means you receive 10/30 more dmg =33% From 60% to 50% means you receive only 10/40 more dmg = 25%

what about NPC rats? will they get reduced EM/explosive armor too? i can see how this would help balance PvP, but for PvE it looks like a pure tanking nerf...
(not like explosive resist matters much for most Caldari missions... but still )

Your obviously delusional. anything that has negative impacts is a nerf. It may be a balancing nerf, but it is STILL a nerf. No one likes to be nerfed. so anyone this impacts in a negative fashion ISNT going to be much in the way of understanding. Sorry. Give me a break. No one likes being nerfed. What you see good for the game is always subjective to a point of view. What you might think is good for the game, might not be what I think is good for the game. And of course, IMO, Im always right.
