The Myrmidon has 150m drone bay, with a 75mb bandwidth.
Which set of drones is better?
2heavies, 2 mediums, and 1 light, OR 5 mediums?
Wouldn't the heavies have a hard time keeping up with smaller targets, say destroyers frigates? At the same time, would the 2 mediums and 1 light not do much to a cruiser and up?
Will 5 mediums out DPS the 2,2,1 flight?

2 heavies, 2 meds, and 1 light very slightly out damage 5 mediums
I perfer 5 meds though, gives room for 5 medium and 10 lights for backup drones.

2,2,1 Will out damage the 5 setup but you can only fit 2 waves amd as you say, those Heavys are a pain to chase up
Personally id take 2 waves of med drones then 2 waves of lights

I pack:
2 heavy, 2 medium, 1 light
5 lights
5 medium ecm drones
Worked for me so far. This is for PvP btw, I've no idea what you'd do for PvE.

Thanks for the quick responses.
I suppose I could run the 2,2,1 except for when dealing with small targets, I could pull them back in and bring out 5 smalls.
If those 2 heavies don't take forever to come back.
For grins, will T1 2,2,1 still be better than 5 T2 mediums? And would those T2 mediums do better against both small and larger targets enough to justify just running with medium drones?

heavy drones will have a hard time tracking/keeping up with frigates in missions, just stick with 2 waves of mediums and 3 waves of mediums for missions, thus you can carry either: a LOT of back ups, or a few damage types. also, if you mix drones for missions its a pain in the ass to get them all to the same target. imo, those 2 mediums and the light drone will kill most things before the heavies do anyways.

Actually, something you may want to try is 3 sentrys, then 5 t2 mediums and 5 t2 lights. use the sentry's from far away, and then when they get in too close for them to do any good switch to the mediums/lights. Make sure you fit at least 1 omni - or if you don't want to use sentry's I'd recommend putting a nav computer in a mid or two.
