High 4 x Caldari Navy cruise missile launcher 1 x Small tractor beam I 2 x Salvager I
Medium 1 x Core B-type 100MN afterburner 1 x Gist B-type X-large shield booster 1 x Dread Guristas invulnerability field 1 x Caldari Navy magnetic scattering amplifier 1 x Cap recharger II 2 x Dread Guristas shield boost amplifier
Low 1 x Caldari Navy ballistic control system 2 x Dread Guristas ballistic control system 1 x Power diagnostic system II
Rigs 1 x Capacitor control circuit II 1 x Capacitor control circuit I
Drones 7 x Hammerhead II
I can perma-run the booster, and have cap to spare for looting & salvaging. With my skills, implants and general awesomeness, I get 1929 shield boost per 4 seconds. That should be enough to tank all LVL-4 missions.

So you've posted up a faction fit Golem setup. I'm not sure what your point is. Perhaps that spending well over 1.5Bil on a ship will let you do lvl 4 missions?
Most people can do those in a T2 fitted BS / CS / HAC or even BC and they cost around 1/10th of the isk of that shiny, floating, pirate piggy bank you just described.

Not a troll however you might want to play with your mids a little,
If you are running the 2 Shield Amps, with the shield boost from those and Marauder skill bonus also you could swap the XL for a high end L then change the Cap Recharger II for a Target Painter and still be able tank the damage from 4's.
I've found flying various ships (BC, Command Ship, Battleships and Faction Battleships) That in majority of cases higher Damage Resistance is a better solution to Higher Damage Recovery so maybe swapping one of the Amps for another Invulnrability Field would reduce the need to perma run your booster.
Just my 2 pennies go with whatever works for you.

To be honest it's a bit overtanked setup. You can get the job done a lot cheaper even if you really want to run permatank.

Your setup fails for lack of resistances and a targetpainter.

This topic is full of fail and ePEEN.
Me think he is an EFT warrior or whatever. Also the setup is rather bad due to lack of target painter.

P.S. I hope Goons find where u live and gank u in high sec.

Princess Ghost, thanks for that! Actually some useful advice, unlike some of the troll posts in this thread.
Before I bought this ship, I've flown LVL 4 missions with a Nighthawk sporting a Pithun A-type medium shield booster; that worked like a charm. When lag hits during a LVL-4, you do not want to be in a position of having to switch on your SB and wait for 5 minutes until it starts to work. So, I wanted to permarun the booster, and make sure that the tank holds.
As to the target painter, I decided against it. I use my cruise missiles for battleships, and, whilst the drones take care of the rest, I can loot and salvage. I got a bit bored with having to switch to a loot ship after each mission. Subjectively I think I am saving time with this ship. But I've not measured it.
Admittedly the setup is not that cheap, but it gets the job done hassle free. Also, I bought the Gist SB in a time where it was still cheap; I think I paid around 500 M or so.
There used to be a thread where people would post their setups, for other people to get ideas, and to post theirs. I don't see the need to troll such threads, but there you go.

Edited by: Complex Potential on 07/03/2008 12:35:09 Agreed. But I think the problem here is that you didn't actually state the point of your original post. You simply put up a faction Golem and said pretty much nothing else.
Far from being a 'What do you think of my setup guys?' it seemed more like, 'Here is my uber Golem, LOL at you all for not having one.'
This is possibly why you got slightly less constructive comments than you were hoping for.

Congratulations on building a fit with "suicide gank me" and "Epic fail" signs bolted to its backside.
