Really whats the point of playing an MMO if only for yourself..?
Same reason people start their own companies, same reason you, I assume, don't sleep in your parent's bed room. You do know it is possible to have friends and not share their goals and dreams right? I mean, according to your view, unless you and all your friends want the same thing, they should not be your friends.
You've been to a club or pub once I'm sure, why are all those people there? They could all stay home and drink alone or dance with the shadow on the wall. According to you I should be buying everyone drinks because we all have the same goal of drinking and dancing.
see thats the problem, yes people can be friends if they are going to another place of business.. but if u work for that corporation... u have a JOB.. and that job is the Preservation of the Corporation which is u fight for them when its needed.

I already have a Job thanks.
The last thing i think most players want is for Eve to become a seccond Job. Thus they stay in empire where its easyer to do whatever it is they find fun.

Thats a bit big of a commitment to make to a fictional company in a unreal universe though isn't it? Especially when the purpose of it is to have fun? And, not to say it is, but it does sound a bit fascist if an alliance or corp demands that level of blind commitment from players.
A good corp or alliance in my view should as much serve the players as they do it, and all the players, not just the heads. So when it does need that type of commitment from them, it isn't owed by a player, but it is the players absolute drive to preserve and defend that alliance or corporation. / "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do." - Confucius, Chinese philosopher & reformer (551 BC - 479 BC.) |

If you wet a group of people slowly move down to a nice 0.0 area such as S-U area of syndicate its NPC space has crokite = lots of zydrine. Just down the pipe you have really good mission station. Good true sec for ratting. Also it is a choke system with a nice back area to rat in and if you and your buddies work together for an intel channel you can know when hostile are coming so you can defend. Sig removed. Personaly I do not want to be tied to one group, once a BoB or Goon then you are branded and half of EVE is off limits for the rest of your EVE life.
I'll play with others but 0.0 gets too personal.
But if CCP makes some fun RP content out in 0.0 then fine but the players out there right now offer the RPing of having a job.
I do not need to be excepted by others THAT bad. *** |
