It's also kinda pointless. If they are going after a target they know to be profitable, then they can just go to the NEXT gate and still get what they want.

yes. Suicide gank a hulk pilot defended by concord at a belt. Why would they go to another gate? Hulk warps to station and docks 100% safely.

It's a perfectly valid tactic and quite a few people use it already. Concord sits in belt for quite a few hours after you summon them, just need to suicide once at the start of your mining op (you can talk to the other miners so you take turns at bringing alts).
No need to make such a big fuss about it on the forums though .

Personally I'd just run a covetor until this latest fad cools down. Ya you'll be mining at about 20% less efficiency but you don't really stand to lose much if you get goony ganked.

Originally by: Morfane Edited by: Morfane on 07/03/2008 21:26:06 Although this is a good idea, the criminals have a workaround:
1. Fly a shuttle/newb ship to a planet. 2. Eject 3. Dock at station and get a newb ship 4. Fly to the offending CONCORD spawn and shoot it with the newb ship 5. After CONCORD destroys your ship, fly to that ejected ship from step 2 6. Board the ship, and the mean old CONCORD spawn will warp away to kill the newly boarded ship
Another thing, the empire gankers I know and fly with laugh at this sort of stuff. They have not whinged on the forums at any of the numerous nerfs CCP has sent their way; they are certainly not going to care about some tactic that some "highsec should be totally safe" noob carebear could come up with.
Edit: that last sentence wasn't really a sentence
I was under the impression that Concord just spawn as needed and don't fly around the system when somebody aggresses and I have seen multiple "fleets" of Concord in a system before so even if they do fly to the scene of the crime what guarantees do you have of attracting the right Concord blob? ========================================= A Man chooses, a slave obeys. |

Who says that it's an exploit to create a new character ? Even if this is true, then i'd recycle the old and create a new one with onother purpose, for example becaus i didn't like the face. And who shall report me, since the new char has nothing to do with the old ? Even if this were an exploit (which i don't think it is), you could do that with new free trial accounts. It's allowed to have many accounts, so you can have 3 new characters each account, for the time of the trial period. This way you don't have to recycle anything.

You dont need to recycle EVER. Even at -10 you are just as effective.
The trick is this
1. Setup a instawarp from station undock to some place 150km+ from any guns, or a safe. You will be immune to attack. 2. Upon landing on instawarp, align for the place you want concord to spawn and try to suicide gank a anchored can you main anchorded or whatever 3. As soon as concord spawns in, instawarp to the place you aligned to. When you come out of warp concord will spawn at the your warp exit location. So you can get concord at a gate at 0km
Or if you want concord at a belt, just skip setps 2 and 3 and warp to belt directly and shoot the hulk.

This is classy. The only question that remains is whether the already present concord forces really instantly react to agression, or whether they also wait the customary time for concord to do something depending on system sec rating? If this works as it should (i.e. instant concord reaction), there will soon be concord fleets at every gate around mission hubs, and maybe even on the whole Jita-Amarr pipe. And I bet then the suiciders come crying how unfair it is when carebears adapt and give them some of their own medicine
There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Scorpion There is no 'e' in Caldari There is no makeup in rogue drones |

Tested.
Existing Concord react if the victim is in concords targeting range instantly.
Concord 150km away wont react, or if they are I would not know because the victim is long dead before the far away concord open fire.

Perfectly workable and allowed tactic as far as I know, as long as you don't recycle your alt when the sec drops. Using trial accounts for this is also a big nono.
I do find it amusing that you're posting about this all over the place trying to get suicide gankers to whine about it and failing miserably though. Filiolus of Bellum is recruiting

I equate Concord at a jumpgate preventing suiciders to Airport Security preventing terrorism. Starting an incident and summoning the police beforehand discourages further criminal action quite effectively.

fix the bounty system and allow make the game mechanics work in such a way that anti-piracy in high sec is easy.
corps will spring up all over to combat the piracy, and problem solved.
either that, or make it so someone who ganks in high sec gets flahsed to everyone.
