Gallente Cosmic Fusion When Fat Kids Attack

Good Evening
As it is deemed that many people slate us prior to the outcome of recent tournament matches i feel an explanation is needed in relation to our poor performance.
We entered this tournament on day one, this was an official decision by us and our partners in crime at the time x13 (a rhyme here, a rhyme there). However following this as many may know we decreased into inactivity (about say 18 days after getting everyone semi-playing again usual practice from a former "elite" corporation) and x13 left alliance pulling us from tournament. However me being who I am, showed my*****y streak and whilst not particularly knowing the mechanics of such a tournament i decided that we may as well compete and the loss of Mang0o's personally earned 1 billion isk should not be lost due to the mistakes of other pilots and the involvement of real life in the matter. Although i perhaps saw our group at first as a push-over it seemed we were in probably the most organized and practiced group; where fittings were pretty much spot-on and our participation was a sour one based on 25 minutes before the match phoning people to play and dual accounting, whilst scraping together fittings. Today however was the last straw, our match being at 1500 with our 10 man player base (of which 5 accounts are inactive) it was decided that due to the fact everyone was not around we would pass it to a corp in our alliance who we knew nothing of other than poor killboard showing and useless smack (you may use the term excuse but flames were passed between us as we deemed them unworthy (you saw it today heh?)) and as such we didn't prevail.
So on behalf of all those in Cosmic Fusion i apologize to you the public and also those ex-members of our corporation(who helped us build our name), it was unacceptable and illogical for us to enter and disallow another devoted alliance to pitch its chance at glory as we have none left in our impassionate state. We hope our name is not tarnished by this utter-disappointment and we say good luck to those within our group and thank you for showing us how this tournament is meant to be competed in.
Lots of love
daily.

Ello m8...
Look, it's only pixels, we have all made choices. We've all had to live (or die) by them.
Give it no thought.
Lets wipe our mouths and move on. It's a competition ffs. Not a politics arena.
Respect to FATTY... and GL to ALL those still in the competition.
Kras.

Edited by: Hortoken Wolfbrother on 07/03/2008 23:29:40 I know what its like. Our alliance is composed of 10 pilots on a good day. Its a lot to ask to have everyone on super early, have lots of very opinionated people agree on one setup... To trust our whole alliance to not only preform their full commitments to us, but work their way into the circles we could break of our enemies.
We almost exploded on our first match, nothing was ready, nobody was in place, we had forgotten to buy some modules... Could of easily of been us that was the trampled on team in our group.
Its not times like these that define you and your alliance, its what you do to fix them that makes who you are imo. You sure didnt accomplish nothing this tourney. If you had died completely to us, wed be almost garunteed a spot in the finals now. Your stone wall against us has made things much more interesting, as we need to take on and best star fraction now for our spot, arguably one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament.

Hey Hortoken!
You wasted us on our first match =P
We just couldn't catch you... haha
We both tried tho, and only one prevailed.
Was it good luck, or good planning? Who knows, or cares...?
The main point is, we had some fun out of it. I don't know how hard that point is for some people to swallow... is it just us??

This tourney has been the funnest week ive ever had in eve. This tournies really are the sum of what the game is. Its rough at times, but if you hold through you'll know your better for it. I know ive learned more in the last two weeks than I really thought would be possible.

at least u did the good deed of gettin the billion back, and providing eve with some entertainment, and i think you and BB were onto a good and fascinating idea when you polled what type of fight/setup for ur last match.
ur rep will prolly not be tarnished, i think more ppl will remember the big alliances failures more :P

The only reason i was happy to see the humiliating defeat of fatty was because of the smack some of those x13 guys did on the forums.
I didnt realize they chickened out beforehand. It does not suprise me tho.. big mouths rarely come hand in hand with bravery and determination.
Anyway, you stayed and took your chances, hats off for that. I doubt that trying would hurt anyone's reputation.
Better luck next time. --------------------------------------------- *Comments in this post are mine and mine only* |

Dont beat yourself up over it mate. At least you tried. In previous tournaments weve seen some alliances fielding noobships and the like because they were allready losers in the group stage, rather than going down guns blazing.
Props for your efforts.

Edited by: Hohne on 08/03/2008 22:30:58 Know very much what it's like to have a corp enter a team on behalf of your alliance and then totally go awol leaving people who didn't even want to enter holding the thing. We didn't know that they had done so until 20 minutes before the scheduled teleport for the first match, and yet again today, though we did't know this until a GM showed up to tell us that we had already forfeited. (this was a good period before the match but obviously close enough that they couldn't get it organised/setup comfortably for them).
We hadn't entered a team last time, and very much didn't intend to this time either, but when someone says they will handle it all and will be on the test server etc etc, you don't really want to deny them the chance. At least in our case we didn't have a reputation to tarnish anyway

Definately no need for an apology mate, props for trying to keep things together and trying hard to provide a good fight in each match. Seems like you had a rough time and i know organizing a tournament team is very hard work as it is, so lots of respect for pulling it through.
I doubt your good name will be disrupted because of the tournament. If anything, it promoted the funniest alliance name to date which still keeps me chuckling and it's clear to me that you're a worthy bunch of pilots despite what may have happened in the fights.
I hope things start to look up.

Useless in all aspects, that is the only way to define you. Since you attempted to give us a hard time we believe what happened to you was just... how can you put it...perfection?
Oh and if 2005, 2006 and 2007 was beta i'd be incredibly surprised and goodness isn't held in "the old days" being a good pilot is based on instinct and reflex, it never leaves and thus as long as we are here we are as good as we "were" back in the not so old days. I'll give you a cookie for everyone you get to say otherwise.

Tourney requires time and input. If you read you'd know with 5 active pilots and only 3 with internet that allows them to play, one of those who has a busy job and has to go away for 2-3 weeks at a time and the other hasn't played eve properley for 1 year? Alliance tournament is very little like real pvp. If you take the wrong fitting you fight to die and the wrong fitting is taken by under-preperation. But wait....you might have known that if you'd actually read my posts in this thread...

Edited by: Martika Ray on 10/03/2008 00:14:42 And yeah, I read it, and understands it perfectly. I'm just stating that you have no right to smack about the BB. -Because they were never invited in on the alli tournament, and they only joined to help your sorry asses, even though they had even shorter amount of time to prepare than cosmic fusion had.

There You go, sounds like pretty bad planning to me. Blame it on yourself.. Not the BB's fault, that you failed, take some responsible Yourself. Sounds like an intern alli problem, not a public smack/whine issue to me.

Sounds to me, you wanted a scapegoat.. -And the guys with the recently poor killboard had the "honour" of being the goat.. Basically, now I don't respect you, I did before, when You sounded like men not 17 yearolds...
