I agree with op, Stop alliance tournements with sausage fests because it leads to us clicking on a stupid add about its final.

Quite frankly I have to agree with the OP. They already spam the tournament everywhere else and they COULD just pop up a message that requires no clicking in the background if they are THAT desperate to talk about it. Personally I could care less what some alliances do in some faux PvP situations and do not waste my time with the tournaments whatsoever and do not need yet ANOTHER stupid reminder getting in my way. I thought EVE was about NONCONSENSUAL PvP not Arena warfare.

It really is sad that some people feel this way about a tournament had an open sign-up to EVERY Alliance in EVE.
I found it incredibly entertaining.
Perhaps even more so that I have no allegiance to any alliance and could just enjoy the show.
And it is your loss for not even seeing what the alliance tournament was about before condemning it.
Although I have to agree that a pop-up was not really needed.
But then neither was this thread to complain about it to the EVE populace either.

Actually it was cool, the finals where fing awesome down to the wire fights and I'm glad a thoughtful GM sent a server wide message reminding me and I'm sure a few hundred others that it was about to kick off.

I kinda agree with the OP actually.
These warning pop up's are modal windows, and should only be used for very important stuff like traffic warnings of your area etc.
It's no biggie, but something to keep in mind for the future, and yes it can get you killed if you pvp at that time. And there's no option to have it in the background or anything, so it can be quiet confusing.
A pop up for a "news item" is a bit silly, given there's 20million news pages etc so the people who care will know about it anyhow.
A yeah, it's monday morning, and i am supposed to be working.

I was in the process of killing someone when the popup appeared. It started remote repping my target and wouldn't stop until I clicked it, causing me to lose a kill on a faction-fit raven. Expect my petition, CCP.

I posted this exact same thing in an earlier post. I personally don't pay to see ads, however I did provide fair solution.
I propose you have the option undergraphics of turning pop-up ads off for those who don't wish to see them.

Dunno, but I saw the ad and thought "what the he*ll, I'll go watch it and see what its about." To my amazement, I couldn't bring myself to do anything else but watch each match. Unexpected victors, with some very close fights that had me outta my seat along with the comentators, lol. Well done by everyone involved in said tournament, nice highlight attraction for me at least. Cheers mates!!!

He's criticizing the ads, not the tournament, but you'd have to read the post rather than the subject to get that.
