So I'm trying to fit my first Mega, and there's the one high slot that can't be used for a turret so I decided I should put a Heavy Nos in there but I see there's something odd, at least to me here:
heavy diminishing power system drain i: http://www.eve-online.com/itemdatabase/EN/shipequipment/engineeringequipment/energyvampires/heavy/16503.asp heavy nosferatu ii: http://www.eve-online.com/itemdatabase/EN/shipequipment/engineeringequipment/energyvampires/heavy/12263.asp
They have the same exact stats (minus like meta level and stuff) except the tech II version uses more power and CPU. Is there an advantage here I don't see? i.e. skills that lessen the CPU/Powergrid requirements will benefit the higher requirements of the HNosII from larger cuts or is it merely a segway into faction fittings? As with many items in the game, the 'best named' version of an item will have equal or better stats than the T2 version and still retain the T1 fitting requirements. This is why most 'best named' items sell for far more than T2 variants.
So why would someone use T2? T2 items can be manufactured and if you way out in 0.0 in a region where the local 'rats don't drop the item you're looking for, your options are pretty much basic T1 or T2. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |
