Seems that whenever I log in now, eve reads my settings as the default settings, even though they are still in my cache, which I keep in the eve folder using /END /LUA:OFF as I want the cache to stay on the right hard disk. After the nerf patch, now it can not find my settings, even though they are all still present, which makes me think /END/LUA:OFF has been removed. WHY?, I just want to keep my cache on a separate HDD to C:\ for performance reasons, and also to stop the caches for multiple clients from interfering with each other

As for why, I can't answer that. But if you are keeping your cache on another disk due to performance issues, try looking into a ramp drive, mapping your cache to a bit of ram is a HUGE performance boost. _

I think patchnotes said something about moving all settings to Documents and Settings.
They will now be in the form of the path to your program files directory from where you are running your client.
So C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE Trinity\ will be something like "ccp_eve_trinity" in your documents & settings. It was a bit unclear exactly how it looks but it should be somewhere. Just copy your old settings to that directory and it might work??

I see, my cache now appears to be stored at 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP\EVE\f_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility' Except the folder is empty!
Also, I can't see any way to keep it on F:\, which is the reason I used /END /LUA:OFF

I think you can re-locate your Documents & Settings folder in windows if you want to. I know I've done it years ago. It is probably in the right click menu for either D&S or your username.

I dont want all my settings jumbled togheter again >_< Atleast I pray cache and portraits and chatlogs stay on the disc I have that copy of EVE installed on. When /LUA:OFF was told to me, it actually boosted my performance, I hope its just a perceived error. Else I still dont play any game but eve and will have to investigate nixclient :D

"/END /LUA:OFF" works just fine
The only change in the way settings work is the move of the settings dir from the cache dir, and this was a smart thing to do, too bad nobody noticed this and everybody keeps complaining how they cant recover the old settings, you can, just use that new dir... I hope this way the future patches will not interfere with the player settings.

Ah, I see what they did now.
for other people with this problem: Just copy your settings backup into the new settings folder in your eve directory (e.g. CCP\EVE\settings rather than CCP\EVE\cache\settings)

Nothing changed here, there is a new empty folder under all users, that's all.
My settings are still in the game directory.

Unfortunately, "oomph" is the sound one makes when kicked repeatedly in the ribs.
