I for one appreciate the vital public service they have provided.
CCP have been unable to combat isk sellers in any meaningful way. Now that Goonswarm are(incidentally) doing a fantastic job of it, all people do is complain.
If anyone wants to mine highsec ores with a little more safety, they'd run a few level 4's until they hit one with a heap of asteroids. I can't count the number of times I've seen plenty of veld, plag, pyrox and omber roids in missions. Sure you might get scanned down and ganked, but at least you'll be making an effort to survive.

You realise, of course, that even suggesting that people should make any effort whatsoever to protect their ships in hi-sec makes you worse than the worst person in history until now.
A full list of what this clearly shows about your real-life character would exceed the permitted characters in a single post. Suffice it say that you, sir, will not be looking after any kitten of mine, Not now, not ever.

None. If you look at their killboard, you will see that their victims are all valid miners. They've yet to kill a miner named "askjhd" or whatever i see so much of ingame. If anything, they are targeting miners that alt+tab out during cycles.
If anything, they are encouraging isk sellers.

Yeah although I do feel a bit sorry for that Rex Hargrove guy losing 8 Exhumers in 5 hours. You'd have thought he'd have noticed what was going on around loss #5 or #6...

They didn't remove a single macro miner. Those just buy a new hulk and continue. They have plenty of farmed isk behind them to keep on mining for a very long time. Those that were the most effected by the goon 'save the roids' action were normal legit miners with limited resources and a limited will to suffer arbitrary punishment.
Do not even try to justify the goon activities with macro miner hunting. -------- Ideas for: Mining Clouds

the goon campaign to kill macrominers is as bad as counterstrike players who go into a map and shoot everybody
it's inexcusable and I will campaign against it

I take it jkbvg, lksn, iohre, kojgb, ewipl and kjoejo are all close friends of yours, who are too busy socialising in #minerchan to say much in local? They all lost exhumers on Monday, poor devils.

None. Goons will never fight for the good of anything but their need for laughs. Can't actually blame them but just don't give them any credit either... they are just spoiled brats having fun. |

Reading comprehension ftl. I said that those macro miners they killed won't be really affected what they're doing, so using them as a justification for what the goons are doing is terminally stupid. -------- Ideas for: Mining Clouds

I'll take that as a QFT.
Everyone decrying this thread is either an alt or an incompetent noob miner.
Of course the Goons are killing macros, by virtue of the fact that a significant percentage of highsec miners are macros and the Goons are bound to hit them too. Especially if the isk sellers have been wise enough to name their macros like ordinary players, which I have seen.
I've also seen the Jihadswarm youtube videos. Nearly every hulk I've seen killed in those videos continued to mine while being ganked. The victims were either incredibly dense or pre-programmed.
I don't care if they don't make a dent in the isk-selling black market. At least they're rattling the cage.

i couldn't have made any of my kills if they'd had a-types, this is really the best way to let us know you're not a macrominer, because the macroers can't afford to buy a-types for their exhumers

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet that the few legit miners who are smart enough to survive may have increasing mineral prices to look forward to. The mind boggles.

The jihadswarm in highsec are awesome.
People need to be reminded that EVE is a harsh universe where you can die and lose your assets and ships at any given second. This is not a universe where people are 100% safe and never has been.
If goons popped a couple macro miners, more power to em. If they didn't, more power to em. Either way they're providing a public service by reminding people that they are never safe and should always take precautions.
The fact that people like the guy who got suicided 8 times in such a short period of time are too dumb to realize what is going on and try to prevent it, as is extremely easy to due if you're aware of local, your surroundings, and remain vigilant, is no one's fault but their own.

they're not poor but at the same time it's hard to justify buying an a-type booster for a macroing hulk when that amount of isk could buy you a timecard for another account and almost another hulk, so i can't see them ever going for a-types.

Because ISK sellers are running hauler missions. --

Goonies haven't killed many and certanly none that they own, they've hardly dented the hulk population in game looking at thier kill boards to the numbers of hulk released by CCP.
Goonies do not provide public service, if they do they get killed by other goonies for being devient, and then returned to clone bay at every opportunity after that.
...... continues overleaf. |

Just a couple of tiny little points...
Strip miners have a considerable deactivation time, it's quite possible that some of those pilots were destroyed before their strips were deactivated.
Other "Macro-smartbombing" videos show that farming ice miners are quite capable of attempting to warp all of their ships out when a BS warps in on them, attempts to survive are by no means indication of a human at the keyboard.
Finally, what precisely would you expect a mining barge to do in that situation? It's very sad-panda but if trying to warp out isn't going to help, loosing your drones isn't going to help and tanking is only going to postpone the inevitable for a couple of booster cycles it's almost understandable that a fair proportion simply sit there and wait to die.
As stated elsewhere in the thread, Jihadswarm is going to hurt a legitimate miner far more than a farm miner, simply due to the available resources each has. It isn't a campaign against Macrominers, it's something to do (and occasionally turns up deadspace mods).
