Since the boost patch, I occasionally have Eve freezing up. It refuses to return to the game and my system becomes non-responsive until I ctrl-alt-del and kill Eve. This has happened 3 times today already, and never happened before the patch. The game continues to run in the background at about 50% CPU, all the sounds and stuff go on too, but I cannot access it.
System: Windows 2000 SP4 AMD XP 3200+ 1GB RAM ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256MB
Programs running at the time the problem occurs: Firefox Trillian VNC Server (not active) No virusscanner/firewall/printerservices blahblah.

a lot of people have this, pretty crippling if you play multiple clients. Patch needs to be rolled back and actually tested before deployment.

This stopped all crashed for me - by going from client - desktop - client. Takes 2 seconds longer but stops the crashes :-)
Also if the window vanishes do ALT + ENTER to switch to windowed mode and then back again. That cleared all graphical lock ups for me.

Welcome to my world, I run Windowx XP x64 and EvE does more than lockup my pc on a regular occasion when I run two+ clients. It gives me an instant *FLICK* *FLICK* reset. Been doing it for years but CCP are crappola at fixing bugs and this is one of their oldest IMHO.

Use windowed mode. EVE was always more stable in windowed mode, than in full screen. Im using windowed mode since my char was a week old and changing between applications, which happens regularly at me, never caused a problem. Back then full screen mode was unstable, if you tasked out, windowed mode solved this for me, plus i can see the taskbar.

no, this is a new issue specific to trinity 1.1
And it doesn't matter how long you hold down alt or if you just mash the windows key etc.... The game is broken and doesn't allow one to switch between multiple clients now.
Also, it appears that CCP has no intention to fix this so it would be a good time to desub/take a break.

I'm also experiencing freezes when running two clients on one PC which are NEW since the patch, same symptoms as the original poster's.
XP SP2 and current security patches AMD X2 4400+ (with dual-core OS patches) 2GB RAM ATI 6870 gfx card
Programs running: Two EVE clients No active virus scanner, sharing services, firewall
System is still responsive except for the EVE client, which can be closed without much hassle; one EVE client works 100% while the other is inaccessible.
This is quite a serious issue, and I'm rather disappointed that stability was "nerfed" in the nerf-free patch. :(

Now there's another issue as well, when quitting eve, the system freezes up occasionally, waits for about 15-20 seconds, and then throws the following error (literally translated):
EVE:ExeFile.exe - Application Error The exception unknown exception in software (0xc0000904) has occurred in the application at location 0x004ace37. (OK/Cancel)
