Dear Devs and players(who might know the answer) at CCP & beyond,
What will happen to people ( such as myself) that have a 10 part storyline mission to run and a ticking clock to deal with? I am on Part 10 of 10 in kidnappers strike (level3). I have noticed something:
No change in a ANY faction standing for completion of the missions 3-9. I'm now on part 10 of 10.
I checked all the faction available to me (that I thought might apply) and have seen 0 gains, I am sure that is not by design ( last faction change I had was Monday Prior to the patch, I was on part 3 of the 10 missions needed
These missions ( all of them ) must be completed by the 17th but with today being a no go and potentially tomorrow as well, things are not looking so good.
I do not want to LOSE faction standing with the Calderi Navy by not completing the mission, or restarting it
I do not want to lose faction with the Calderi Navy as I run out of time to do this either.
Any thoughts?

Why can't you do them today or tomorrow?
Unless this series of missions is very different from all the others I've done, each "part" is considered in game mechanics as a separate mission - complete your current one but dont ask for a new one, and you wont be given the next part. -- Ralara / Ralarina |

plus you have 7 days to finish the whole series...and part 10 is VERY tough

technically part 10 is very easy if you dont want to kill all the bad guys, work your way thru to the last room, kill off the auto aggro npcs and the small group right at the structure you need to kill. get aligned with a nice celestial object and attack the structure with your drones(this causes all the big npcs to attack your drones first) nuke the structure fast, bm the resulting wreck and bail out. go turn in the mission and return to collect the loot can. of course if you want the bounties from the bs rats there, it does take a little longer :)

Fair enough, I hate leaving all those bounties unclaimed...think I could do it in a manticore and the cloak /warp out?

2nd, completing the entire series is one of the biggest storyline standing bumps you can get, but not until you finish part 10. That IS by design, but the wait is worth the gain at the end.
3rd you have a week after being offered the first part to accept and complete the first 9 parts and accept part 10. Once accepted however you will then have the standard week from that time to complete it if you forgo the time bonus. So as long as you can talk to your agent before the offer expires, you'll have plenty of time after accepting part 10 to complete it.
*EDTI* 4th as for tactics if you want the bounties, kill the 2 small center groups, leave the structure alone and go after the fleet on one side, then the other, then come back for the structure. Shooting it aggroes both groups, shooting the groups themselves doesn't aggro the one on the other side.

If you're really that desperate, just blitz part 10. Ignore the big-ass battleships in the last room (and miss out on all the bounties), shoot the tower, and warp out and turn in the mission.
However, I'm pretty sure the seven-day completion timer is per mission. So, if you were given 10/10 today, you'd have until the 21st to finish it. It's been a while since I've paid attention to it, but IIRC that's how it works. I do know that I took about a week and a half to do the same chain out in 0.0 once. -- Aeran Hermas

not sure about a manticore. the point of using the drones is to give you an extra few secs to deal damage to the structure before the bs turn their fire on you. a manticore may have a small enough sig and high enough resists to survive the fire long enough to pop the structure, i think i would bm one of the other wrecks before hitting the tower to save those few seconds afterwards. used to do that mission in a ferox/brutix, never lost a ship doing it that way. course this was before i got some friends to help me claim those ship bounties

Edited by: manasi on 14/03/2008 14:12:26 fair enough ty for the responses, as for the wrong forum, my apologies...
The timer is 7 days from the INITIAL accepting of the series. drones make sense ty for the clarification.
Thanks for the ideas all I appreciate it.
Thanks for the tactics tips I will try that first! |
