I take it the only reason EVE TV isnt a daily/weekly/monthly show is because of funding from CCP is none-existant?
Just out of curiousity, how much would it cost to produce monthly EVE TV episodes?
Then maybe you could either petiton it to CCP till they give in and fund the show/partially fund the show or use your own funding, possibly from paypal donations or something, who knows. What about using sponsored advertising?

Sorry, but no. People had a chance to support EVE TV and not enough of them decided it was worth the money. I don't see why the rest of us should have to put up with more bugs or extra lag (the consequence of less development/hardware money) to subsidise it.

You are retarted. EVETV has nothing to do with the server/devs, just like the artists for ambulation have nothing to do with the server.
CCP tried to charge us for an unproven product, so it didnt catch on because not many of us werent willing to pay when we didnt know what we would be getting. Then after a season evetv had a faily large following ccp cut the money, without warning. An utter failure on ccps part, not because evetv was bad. but because ccp presented the product incorrectly, and therfore failed to make a profit off of it

While the idea of EVE TV is great, I do think it was made a bit wrong way to appeal general gamers. I mean it was like watching news from tv (which I rarely do), not that interesting to me atleast.
I'm generally into stuff like EVE TV but for some reason it didn't work for me. Anyways, I hope it comes back, I did enjoy watching couple shows when I was waiting for Alliance Tournament to start.

EVE TV was the only thing that really made me love EVE, it made the game so special. Now I just play it because my friends do. Every time I think of EVE, I think of EVE TV. Oh the miss.
Please bring back EVE TV so EVE once again can be unique.

Eve Tv was great and it was very cool seeing players that have a decent knowledge of the game and talking about eve issues. I thought the team did a very good job with it aswell.
It would be great if CCP brought it back even if it was just a monthly thing. Eve is so indepth that to be honest there is alot to talk about and do on a tv show dedicated to this game if you really put your mind to it.
I guess the reason why it stopped was funding or something??? Eve Tv, your worth it!

Something to consider.
Just recently my account expired. I had a long skill training and couldn't be bothered renewing immediately.
If EveTV were only open to people with active accounts I would likely have not let it lapse. It's a small amount of money lost for sure but I wonder how many others have done the same.

i want it back cause its what got me into this game when it seemed boring as all get out the idea of fighting for something great. and even if it was a hit and miss i mean a monthly show would be just as good or bi monthly i mean. i learned more about ships and how they were used in particular then any other game ive ever played from eve tv. yes it was news type but thats what it was there for to inform u of whats goin on. keepin the players informed. i heard somewhere it got over 2mill or so hits so i mean its not a joke. ive signed the petition but still think ccp should bring it back by july when the new xpansion comes out. and the i mean get ad dollars i see more ads on there then when it was first on there watchen reruns. i mean all the ads before were msn ads. just get more ad dollars from companies.idk i just want it back so i dont have to search all over caod for some half decent news from some crappy alt. |

I did enjoy Eve-tv and paid for every episode before it was free.
As far as the staff goes, while they may not have been right for everyone I do think they all did a great job and I appreciate the efforts that went into it. I think a lower budget version could be made. It doesn't have to be shot in a studio or with a crew of camera and sound people.

Signed. Helped me out alot, I watched it when I was starting to really get into eve, and it taught me a few things and really got me involved.
The community aspect is the best element of Eve, it really is a virtual reality, we got a cool mag in E-ON. Even if it is lower funded, I think it would be great to improve the image of EVE.

CCP needs to learn that it cannot create anything else that a majority of people will pay for related to EVE.
It just will not happen. $15 a month for a single video game, especially an MMO that is really, really slow paced with a really steep learning curve? Nobody is going to pay for Voice chat (we can get it for free with vent and still choose to anyway) or EVE TV (watch people talk about the game and show video clips? Neat, but every other game on the planet gets this service via G4 and watching people's youtube vids).
The service must be a major value-add before a majority or even large minority of customers will even fork over $1 more. Most people KNOW the cost of operation for the EVE servers is nowhere NEAR $15 a month, and that every MMO you pay is charging a ridiculous markup. We pay because the quality of the games are that good... but, no more.
I'm not trying to be cheap, just painting a realistic picture. EVE TV was cool. It should exist. It doesn't need to be live or high tech or costly, but it should exist.

The EVE TV part of my sig has been there since shortly after EVE TV went dark.
Many players would pay a bit extra for having a couple of cool features like regular Alliance Tournaments (<- according to a remark on a Fanfest video it was close to getting axed too) and EVE TV.
That EVE Voice couldn't take off has only partly to do with having to pay a buck extra (I was certainly willing to pay that). If it's an individual decision for every player it simply cannot take off because you need the same voice service for all corp/alliance members. If a third don't want it the other 2/3 are also staying with Vent/TS/Mumble.
And the more people paying the less it costs per account. What costs 1-2 bucks for a sub-group might be just 5-20 cent for all 250k subscriptions. (Yeah, I'm just making up these figures but the point stands).
Restricting EVE TV to paying customers has its charms - but would also kill some marketing effect it has. But a solution might be to make all episodes available to paying customers and only a sub-selection to outsiders (e.g. only every 4th episode and 2 months behind). So the coolness of EVE having its own TV show would work as marketing for the game while giving subscribers added value.
And yeah - doesn't have to be weekly - bi-monthly or monthly would be ok.

Eve TV was briefly the highlight of my meager existence. Please bring it back. I think it should not just be web video, but actually be distributed to TV service like G4 TV in USA. Give it to them cheap enough and they will show ANYTHING!
Anyway, Eve TV was great because it was real users doing the commenting, not actors or disinterested 'talking heads'.

This is true, G4 will show anything if they can run commercials on it. They ruined wonderful in-house shows and replaced them with cheap imported game shows and dreck like Cops and Cheaters. Real Neanderthal programming.
I wish there were a permanent MMO TV channel.
