And I agree, training offline is one of the reasons I like the game - see my original comment RE: WOW.
I'm by no means suggesting that Uber ships should take 4 minutes to train. But it would be nice to be a bit more flexable and able to get into different tech I setups without a silly overhead. As I've suggested also, one potential solution is to have additional learning skills one can choose to train to make the overall training faster. I cannot see why that would pose a problem. For anyone wishing (for some insane reason) for it to take twice as long then, they can choose not to train them.
over the summer when my working life was too hectic to devote more than 15 minutes of life to eve a day i trained amarr and gallente battleships to 5 each
as an aside the skill proces being as it is is fine, HAC's and command ships are not an end game, they are more of a reward for the player that has chosen to skill in this direction. since im the kind of person that gets his support and ancilliary skills in before dropping a log on a ship all i need to do now is train caldari cruiser or minnie cruiser to V and i have access to that races command ships and hacs and recons.
this takes me about 16 days per skill, which is fine tbh, since when im at work and stuff its nice being able to just log on and pvp, without having to grind for another level.
its a harsh way of saying things - eve online has always been a niche game, if you like it you suffer some of the percieved downsides and enjoy it for what it is. if you dont like eve as it is, go ctrl + Q from the game permanently
hacs etc takinga long time to train for is part of the game, when used right they are specialised engines of destruction. when used by a muppet without the skills or the knowledge of how to manipulate and control them, they lead to expensive comedy killmails. the bastards, were started just over 6 months ago as a bunch of noobs in rifters. now they are a bunch of noobs in hurricanes, drakes, a couple of recon pilots etc.
these guys have fun regardless of what is going on and thats what eve should be. fun. if its not, go back to fondling elves
