I am still experiencing the issue - and I have a petition thatÆs been open since 3/13. I have not received a reply from customer support since my response to the initial request for more information on 3/14.
I have tried every suggestion posted to the forums that I can find. I would greatly appreciate help from the customer support team getting this resolved.

For me EVE has been working like a charm after Trinity 1.1. Actually it has worked a lot better than before the patch. I use a crappy laptop which gives me about 25-30 fps constantly at the moment. It used to go a lot lower than that. Granted that I don't fight in big fleet battles, but small scale PvP I do practise. Still having 200+ persons in local hasn't affected me at all. I might have been lucky or the patch is helping slower computers or classic client users. I have been very happy so far.

Log in MOTD: "Todays downtime is extended due to a hotfix. Due to issues discovered during QA dry-run we need to reverse a part of it. Because of this we estimate that Tranquility will be open for business at 14:00 GMT"
In anticipation of the issues we surely will experience after todays downtime Yes, I can say with reasonable certainty that we will still be experiencing problems. And I would gladly submit a bug report if you will kindly stop sending us back the copy paste "could not reproduce internally" message.

Edited by: Neodell on 18/03/2008 13:42:29 Been playing since 2003, and if you want to see lag, go back to 2004, we are talking mega, it was a joke, at that time however there was only 10,000 people online during the weekend!
Since the update of the server hardware, things have improved (dont forget CCP have one of the top 500 supercomputers in the world.. i know u wouldnt think it with the lag!). However i think its now time to invest in some more systems. CCP seem to be wanting to hit the 600,000 subscription goal or something, but how well would the server cope with 50,000 people on at once? I think everyone needs to have a good think about where EVE is going, otherwise in 2 years time it will be a game of shattered dreams.
The downtime isnÆt nice, I understand that, however donÆt forget that CCP will have people leave, so donÆt for one moment think that they arenÆt doing everything they can, i mean they want their massive bonuses in their salary this month! Sadly Money is the thing that makes eve go round. And eve is just a big Cash Cow and we are the milked players with our eve addictions

i experince lag running 1 account on a single copy of the client when before this patch i could run 4 accounts course thats during ice ops to fed the dam towers but still thats 4 clients back then what a month ago and now i struggle to keep 1 connected
same machine same connection, whats changed oh yeah game content, test stuff properly CCP we'd rather wait a year longer and get it in 1 hit first time than get 1 patch followed by 1week of lag city folllowed by 2-3 wk's pof hot fix's, that as was said earlier is just masking the issues and yeah causing more sever workload and hence MORE LAG.
if you really need to turn eve off for 48hrs or what ever just give us all warning and scrap the entire patch history and make it into 1 version from scrath again if its that much of a issue to sort, cause like someone else mentioned each patch will start to cause conflicts with an older or newer patch.
and yeah the fallout has started i've lost 3x 2yr+ players from my corp due to your d-sync's etc, standardised emails for ship replacements etc etc etc.
we're happy with what we got but we just want it stable and smooth.

Server performance now is 100% better than it used to be. Has it occured to anyone that when you have 100+ man fights it could be your connection thats slowing things down? Does anyone else know of another online game that has 35,000+ players online at once, cos I sure dont. Next we will have the old chestnut about EVE going down the sharded route....... EVE is dead, long live EVE!

Im old on eve, unlike you..and i can safely say CCP will NOT be able to fix all the bugs if they jsut keep adding MORE bugs then they are fixing. You CANNOT deny that they are doing that because its a goddamn FACT.

I am still getting the white screen while running multiple accounts. At the current moment i can maybe run 2 for a while, 3 whitescreens me. Prior to the last patch 3 was stable and prior to trinity i could run 5 or 6 no problem.

That totally sums it up. CCP should see to fixing the numerous issues that are in the game before even thinking about new eye-candy projects aimed at increasing new subscriber numbers...
If you ask me, they should stop working on Ambulation and other fancy stuff that nobody really cares for and instead use the resources to make the game as it is bug-free.
Let's see what the competition delivers. Before long, EVE wont be the only space MMO out there anymore, and I bet quite a few disappointed players are waiting for alternatives...

Thanks for sharing your opinion û ItÆs obvious you put a lot of thought into your post. I reviewed this thread and other posts in the forum and for the most part I donÆt see people whining, crying or *****ing. What I see is paying customers expressing frustration with the instability / show stopping bugs introduced with this patch, and disappointed by the level of customer support they are receiving. I see people suggesting that CCP focus on fixing bugs before adding content. I see people expressing their concern that CCP seems to be more interested in adding new players rather than making their current customers happy. I also see people offering suggestions for workarounds that have worked for them and feedback when they have not worked. Unless IÆm mistaken, that is the purpose of the forum that CCP is hosting.

Last patch...
boot.ini contracts were changed to be less user friendly
This patch...
optimal screen resolutions removed... market quickbar unable to sort correctly
CCP, you need a better Q&A department. Do any of your Q&A people look at market/trading issues? Well, I guess your Q&A is good enough for those people with widescreen monitors and pew pew all day -- they are the subscribers who count, right? |

The more I read about the recent issues, the more I'm convinced that CCP should not add any new content in the near future unless they are able to maintain the stability of the system as it is now.
Seriously, I'm having nightmares about what *blingbling* Ambulation might bring in terms of bugs, errors and beta-stage game components.

I posted a petition about the missing resolutions and another about the brokeness of the market quickbar. I got the same cut/paste response telling me how to clear my cache. As Niding said, a year ago I could play the game and now I can't -- I'm just a trader with a low-end monitor. So, I should run out, buy a new monitor, reskill to be a solo pvp'r, and hope to fight 1 on 1 in a system with a total population of 6? No thanks. Clearing my cache won't help improve my play experience if I must do that. |

As a programmer myself with experience of a relation between the coding team and QA, i just wonder what's going on in CCP. With the boost patch several new bugs were introduced, that should have been visible to every tester. Like the fleet windows coming up at standard position. And everytime i go out for a fleet battle i fear the invite while i'm already in space, bc if an enemy shows up while i'm arranging windows again (!!!) i'm screwed. Also the new tabbing stuff on the overview is neat, but did actually test somebody, that it works ? If I add something on one tab, it's also shown on the other and vice versa... It's completly useless
I don't want to go into every bug I've seen the last days... just giving you some hint for your internal workflows. Programmers should write a report for the tester, how something is supposed to work and if it's not doing this, don't add it in the next patch (wonder, why some stuff goes into QA anyway, like the tabbed overview)...
Also don't think only about getting new customers, the old customers (i'm not one of them, but I was playing UO for 7 years before and they have the same problem for years now) made your company to what it is now. In our corp we often get short time player, they come, they stay for a month (or just trial time) and then they never log on again... But old customers pay for years and they most likely stay and give you a constant income. Try make your playerbase happy.. If necessary, explain that to the comapny board, that you can have a quick boost in money and then all is gone (due to loos of veterans and bad reputation).. or you can have a permanent income. A stable playable game is also the best ad. Now i'd have problems to bring player in...

I heard through the g*****vine that ccp is currently building a new computer that will be the most powerful (or damned near) super computers in the world. I don't think that they are ignoring the issue. But i would also like to see priority taken off of adding new stuff for the time being. However, i think we all can say that we would in no way like to discourage ccp from attaining the HUGE vision they have for EVE. I play eve with the commitment i give it because it is my honest opinion that CCP cares. about eve and about it's players as much as the players care about eve. no other game is like that

There are several games on the horizon that could be "eve killers" on their own. With the seemingly ever increasing number of bugs and ever decreasing playability, eve could be an eve killer itself if this keeps up.
Seriously, what the hell are you guys spending the subscriber money on? someone's getting rich, I guess.

I cancelled my subscription after reading this topic, CCP really needs to start re-prioritizing their resources. No amount of fancy graphics is going to matter when you have a laggy unstable server..
Just overall I'm dissapointed with CCP and the direction I see this game heading in since I started up until now, and will wait until things start improving.

In my opinion, I'd rather see CCP put all the 'future' expansions on hold. CCP needs to take *all* the resources off the future patches and return to Trinity. It's a good upgrade from Revelations to be sure but it isn't polished.
I don't know if any of you guys have ever played 'Dead or Alive Ultimate' on the XBOX and then played 'Dead or Alive 4' on the X360. DOA4 has beautiful graphics, great levels, and some of the best ending FMV's I've ever seen. But DOAU is a better game. It's "polished" so to speak.
Take some time and return to Trinity, CCP-Devs. Review the models (as some ARE broke, see the front of the Taranis in-station for example. You can see a small line down the center). Review the coding. Add more server capacity. Add more systems to spread people out.
Polish the game before you add to it further. In the long-term, this will be better for you. At least, that's my opinion. I mean, yeah. I am looking forward to walking in stations and whatnot. But I am willing to wait longer if it means everything will be better.

I have noticed fewer instances of lag as of lately. two accounts at once running fine and no issues, decent fps. If those at CCP had direct knowledge they were fixing issues, thank you well done, however if it was just a side affect of some other fix, hey better lucky than good sometimes.
As in my original post the QOS still needs work, still its nice to see some improvement.
