hey, i was just wondering if other people(surely so) are as crazy as I when it comes to playing eve.
what's the longest you have spent sitting and playing eve, getting up only for food(which you bring back to the computer) and going to the bathroom?
I have sat, without sleep, playing eve for 38 hours straight once. i got up only to go to the bathroom and get foodstuffs to bring back to the computer.
i have found that the best types of food to eat are like, chicken fingers and carrot sticks to dip in ranch... campbells cup o soups are great too.
I can't imagine how many hours total I have put into the game. thousands and thousands of hours.
what about you?

I got my account stats from a GM about a month ago, at that time I'd spent a total of 53 days logged into my account

I played from the end of one downtime to the start of another with the only pauses being:
1) A quick shower 2) A couple of breaks to heat the kettle in preparation for some Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodless 3) A phonecall to work to explain how I was "really poorly"
Yesterday I played from 8am to 3am hunting NPC's too.

longest single sit down of EVE was about 10 hours, of course now that I'm not so much for waring (until something worth fighting over comes in the game) I find that i can't play eve for more than 5-6 hours a day...something about combat and hunting enemies draws me in. Mining and producing and selling just doesn't have the same vortex effect. It's fun but different :)

Edited by: shakaZ XV on 11/04/2004 10:47:44 i play lots but not THAT much longest without any real breaks was yesterday/today... mining bistot for ~13-14 hours straight and then flying back home for another hour or so. But im not gonna do that again anytime soon (hmm i said that the mining op before this one aswell greed > me)
pizzas are still teh w1n food wise while playing eve...its just crappy that i tend to forgetting about it after putting one in the oven so they usually turn out as giant cr-ackers agree on the cup of soup type thingies, infact ill have 1 now

Back in June when I was off work for a month, I pulled a few multi-18 to 20 hour days of Eve.
Don't do it anymore because of school, though yesterday came close. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

On more than more occasion, i have pulled a full weekend shift on eve... From friday at 5:45pm till Sunday at 2am.
That's without moving from the pc for much more than a few hours sleep each night.
It kinda messes you up a bit though ;)

I usually play the whole weekend but disconnect for the "RL" needs, and sleep 8 hours every night.

Pretty much same as you. Don't remember exactly, but 36-40 hours straight like that once.

I only did those looney things in beta. I used to put a paper weight on top of "enter" key to get in. "connecting... connecting... connecting" then i would fell asleep with that.
Once in the early days of TQ i felt asleep on top of the keyboard while mining with FoA. I woke up at the sound of Bare Wire missiles. Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

Once, on a week's holiday, I played while off my head on something or other for 2 days - a straight 48 hours and read the forums and ate etc during downtime. Now I am a responsible adult and can only play 3-5 hours a night due to work but still try to play for about 18 hours or so on my days off. Posting with an alt so my main character's integrity is protected.

my longest straight was something like 34 hours, with nothing longer than both DTs.
My best feat of EVE endurance was a week that I had off work with the GF out of town where I did nothing but sleep and play EVE. I even timed my sleep so I could AFK mine with an alt then wake up, empty the hold, and trestart the cycle. Needed a week off after that.

Nothing that crazy. I played a lot back when I chained NPCs in Fade to get ISK for my first battleship (Megathron), though. Probably something like 11:00-17:40 chaining with very short breaks and lunch at the computer 17:45 - 18:15 dinner 18:20 - 03:00 chaining 03:20 - 11:00 sleep
Repeat for a few days...

Edited by: Drethen Nerevitas on 11/04/2004 22:21:43 Over 40 hours, under 50 in Eve, no break more than going to the toilet/grabbing something to eat/drink, and ofc d/t (and if you do it right, you can time your toilet break for d/t, and then go for another 20+hours not needing to go again ).
My longest on a computer with no breaks except toilet/food/water is about 3 weeks . Do I win a prize? (Bread+water/coke is all you need, sleep is for wimps ) _______________________________________________________________________

You haven't slept for 3 weeks? Yeah.
Aanyway, my longest time in Eve was probably something like 18-22 hours...and I used to do 10-15 relatively frequently last summer...

I played EVE for 2 days non-stop once, exept for downtime. I drank and ate in front of the computer. It's sick now that I think of it.
I used to work from home, and eve is probably one of the reasons I don't do that anymore.
When EVE was first released it was like a gold rush, everyone was trying to get to that battleship blueprint first. Now it's different in-game wealth is not everything.
