His country actually did pretty well and had a decent standard of living when he was able to sell his oil and wasn't blowing his money on fighting Iran. For the average Iraqi citizen, the US-led sanctions hurt them far more than **** ever did, and the invasion has made their lives even worse. Goons are more like the Robert Mugabe of Eve.
