Edited by: Swift on 12/04/2004 01:15:13 The ironic thing about your post is that I could probably write a similar one that is about the life we live - the real life outside the game and the horrendous cycle it follows. And the truth that even with 7 billion people on this Earth, an astonishing large majority is stuck in much smaller less varied cycles than the one that you have shown in the original post. Think of your own lives wherever you are in them and see if it holds true.
The horrible part of that is that with an average life expectancy of 80 years (or a little less or more, something like that where I live), getting caught in a cycle is very costly and time runs out before one realises that maybe one should have allowed life to play out a little differently - maybe made one choice instead of another in their personal goal of 'happiness'.
The point of all this? We all need to remember that the one power we have with our lives is that we are fully in control of what we we wish to make of it. The cycles will always be there in real life and in EVE (EVE is the most realistic mmporg to date in terms of economics and the way the power of currency dictates lives, seems to reflect human nature too) and its up to you whether you wish to follow those cycles, or deviate it to varying degrees.
Yeah you can spend your life mining, let your isk wallet get bigger and then realise one day that you spent a huge amount of your time online not enjoying yourself one bit. Funny, I am sure lots of old people are sitting around right now wondering what the heck did did all their lives too and how it all slipped away. Im just glad Im saying this at 25 - not at 85, now I can look forward instead of back, both in EVE and real life. At least the future hasn't happened yet ;) And just like in real life, I have goals in EVE that I wish to accomplish but most of them involve having fun and being happy - the same as in the real world. I hope that is the same for everyone else ;) Thanks for reading.. hehe.
Say what you want but a moment of happiness is not a moment wasted. How about we ensure that most moments are tinged with them then ;) -----

A place where Concord no longer polices or protects, 'human nature' thrives in all its distilled destructive self-serving glory. Welcome to hell ladies and gentlemen, welcome to what it really is to be human.'
