Pretty much what Mangus Thermopyle says. Great name btw. Morn say's hi.
Missions are very simular, but bounties are replaced by tags in nearly every mission.
Get a drake.... if the area you are operating in is not your alliances space, then that is quite possibly the worst advice I've ever heard. Battle cruisers are gank magnets. Use your brains and realise there are other ships that can be used for missioning. I personally would NEVER use a drake 0.0 mission running. I can run any mission from the description faster in a ship specialised for that mission. 0.0 missions have to run at a speed a isk maximising empire player couldn't even comprehend. Think about blitzing missions. Eve survial if you use it doesn't have many of these missions.
0.0 I use 3 different ships with completely different setups depending on what I get. I use different racial ships depending on the mission. Why struggle shield tanking Amarr Navy when you can armour tank (higher em and thermal resists) them so much easier? Using an inty/frigate for level 2's will build up enough materials so you can build in situ a cruiser. Long range sniping cruisers are sometime the best way to remove a stasis tower or energy draining tower.
The tier 2 (not tech 2) frigate with the cargo bonus can usually do every courier out there - you might need to do a couple of trips thou. I'm sure people think I'm either mad or scanning for cosmic anomalies, but the Minmatar probe is an outstanding ship for this with cargo expanders.
As such yes you can run missions in hostile space. You have to really think, there's no semi-afk/drunk mindless drake running. It's eve on hard mode. You have to be completely self sufficent as the market is non-existant. bpc are a good idea, and so are bpo's if you happy too loose them. Be aware that your system can get locked down, and you will be unable to operate. I have a jump clone for when this happens.
As for standings - yes they do kinda mess up you Empire faction. Realise thou there are two main pirate grousp that don't get on.
Angels and Sepentis (thukker as well... but don't kinda count as they are more a low sec faction reward wise) are in bed together. Then the other group in Blood raiders, Sansha's and Guristas are the other faction.
The southern group (Angels and Sepentis) are more disliked by Gallente and Minmatar if memory serves, and the Northern group (Blood raiders, Sansha's and Guristas) are more disliked by Amarr/Caldari. I think maybe prehaps Sansha's maybe an exception to this - but check in game with who they like.
As such with a jump clone, you could empire mission run in a bc/battleship in Amarr space, and mission run hard style in Angel space. Sure it won't optimise faction - but it is do-able via the faction corps.
Ideally, have a friend or two you can work with fleet wise to maximise 0.0 mission running. See how effective a small fleet of t2 frigates (inties/assualts) are mission running in empire. Audita et altera pars |
