I take it this is another 24 hour ordeal? First 12:30, now 12:45....did you delete more boot.ini files?
CCP please refund 28 hours of game time. Thanks. ( seriously )

If you're going to whine about a couple of hours extra downtime, maybe you should just cancel your subscriptions.
Keeps you off the boards, and maybe.. just maybe - you'll have a life outside EVE.
Just a thought.

For some of us it is almost 11pm on a week night and I would just like to change my expired skill before I go to bed. Now is that in 10 minutes or in 3 hours? I don't know, but it makes me curious.
Cheers

Thats all I need to do. Had a skill waiting to be changed this morning. Didn't know the server downtime is 3 hours now instead of 1. Soon you will only get to play for 1 hour per day because of bug releases everyday.

For some of us it's currently lunch break. I simply wanted to switch skill, so that I would have the right skill trained by tonight. Unfortunately my break will be over in 4 minutes...

Always sucks to lose training time - more so if you are relatively young.
I guesstimate I lost about +% worth of training time (5 days) during the 3 years I have played so far.
Even though it probably annoys you right now - take a step back and realize this is not the end of the world.
(and if you are new - the servers are normally much more stable than what they have been since last patch).

CCP really does need to get it's act together and test it's patches before applying them to the production servers. Seriously, I work for an international software company and if we screw up even just a bit, we are in deep trouble. If we worked like CCP does, all of our customers would soon leave. CCP go and hire some testers and QA people for crying out loud.

Todays downtime is extended due to a hotfix. Due to issues discovered during QA dry-run we need to reverse a part of it. Because of this we estimate that Tranquility will be open for business at 14:00 GMT
So there is no Quality Control?? Shouldn't you guys test the patches before releasing them?
Seriously, there are so many patches and repatches that I wonder why am I paying for this game.
Whats the point of releasing a patch if you need to perform a patch for the patch in the next day? Geeze.....

I agree, this is now beyond a joke. Why would you apply a patch that is untested and will need to be removed because it doesn't work.

How big is the database? Don't you make a backup of it before and after each patch?
How big is the server code? Don't you make a backup of it before and after each patch as well?
It shouldn't take very long to simply rollback.
You say patching should only take 1 hour. If at 45 mins in and you don't think you can have it done in the last 15 mins left, then you should stop and roll back, find out what went wrong, re test on a TEST server, regroup and try again the next day.
TEST servers... test your problem code there, not on the REAL servers.
I'm tired of all these unexpected extended down times.

They should also reimburse us for all the game time lost due to their patches and repatches......
Giving us extra game time would help make sure that they do better patches and have less unexpected downtime... by hitting them in their wallet...

Well I bet, the QA dry-run has at least that much. Come on, this does not clearly fit together and I doubt that CCP would be as transparent as much as good as it gets. But anyhow, If they realize the Fix is broken, no-one forces them to fix and apply it today. If the servers could have run for one day, the could run for two days as well. Is there any need for hectic? Drop the patch and let us play.

Not only an apology, but how about a free days worth of game time, for everyone. With all these downtime extensions since Trinity 1.1's release, it certainly adds up to approx 24 hours lost gaming time.

whatever you complain about life and such stuff...
cosider its ****ing off when your skill plan goes to hell (yes, we dont have a skill queue), you r new player hat a lot of short-time skills and simply lost your in-game time
those longer dt's should at least be announced b4, not when in time
yes skills r training when dt, but what if i dont train 7d skills (yeah, no queue)? its just loss of time and money
to CCP if you got some bug fixes, just announce this before extending dt, and ffs, if you got those bugs, make 1 day dt and fix it all once for all !!! (we hate suprisers) |

Yet the fact they don't suggest this or even just that their Q&A/Testing protocols need serious examination and revision but instead insist the patches are 'a success' shows them to either be entirely disconnected from the player base or purposefully neglegent in adressing those concerns.
I'm hoping for clueless over incompetant as at least the former can be changed.

CCP does NOT care about how we feel about this. Lets accept it and move on. They dont read any of our complaints and if they do, they probably do it in theyre own little group laughing and joking about our serious complaints. Do you really think they care? NO they dont.... They are convinced that they can "pull off" all this crap with extended downtimes unexpectedly and players WONT quit Eve. and the sad part is that its true.
Will people really get sick of these downtimes and problems and quit Eve completely? ofc not lol
So there ya go, nothing can be done about it. They dont give a crap if we lose training time or whatever. They dont care. They wont stop and we wont quit. So were stuck with it. So there!!!
and btw, something I've been thinking about is that later on this year, there will be a giant expansion(waking in stations ect) You think this is bad? imagine how worse THAT is going to be. There will probably be a million problems, bugs, numerous extended downtimes with or without warning. For the people who cant handle a few hrs, perhaps they should just quit Eve because its not going to end. Spare yourself getting all wound up and ****ed off and make little "I am going to quit Eve speeches" on the forums. and we all know your not going to quit, your just wining and moaning cuz your mad atm. :-)
so theres my 3 cents :)
