Well ive decided to cross train Amarr, and specifically to train for this tasty looking ship
Seamed to me on observation to be like a more painful Brutix so my first instinct was to fit it out like the Brutix.
(Please note i have no experience fitting any Amarr ships, let alone the Harb)
However when fitting a Duel Rep Harb with FNPs with one Heat Sink to utilise the extra low slot the dps is almost identical (actually a fair bit in the Brutes favour) but the Harb gets a substantially worse tank due to the Brutixes bonuses with the Harbs range being the only advantage
So how should i be fitting this beast, plated with lots of gank? stick to med reppers as my judging of the ship is incorrect or somewhere in between?

GANK!
Heavy pulses, AB, plate and damage mods.

Edited by: Folstrum on 19/03/2008 00:14:29 I fit mine like this:
high: 7 HPL II 1 Empty Slot :(
Medium:
Medium Cap Booster II Warp Disruptor II Named Webby MWD
Lows:
RCU II 3 Hardeners 1 HS II
Around 375 DPS, 70 ish resists, 1235 m/s. The downside is you're limited to 11 800s, which means if you're in a situation where you have to tank, gank, tackle, and mwd at the same time you'll be dry in a couple of minutes.
This setup has seen me through tonnes of action and never let me down.
If you don't mind dropping a bit of cash you can fit it with best named pulses and faction crystals. Its actually a little bit better setup since you don't need a fitting mod and you can have an extra HS II.

Edited by: Goumindong on 19/03/2008 00:34:42 Make that a small cap booster on the gank fit, you dont need the medium cap booster and the small one lets you use a MWD.
Alternately use a sensor booster in the last slot, since its guns and MWD only, you will be cap stable enough the sensor booster lets you apply that DPS faster.
For the Plated setup, you can trade the EANM for a MAR and still be perfectly cap stable. The MAR is actually usefull in many med to low DPS situations where the plated setup has the advantage.
edit: Also consider going to 5/5 on Warriors Or Hobgoblins/Light Armor Maintenance Bots.
The light drones don't lose that much dps to the mediums and the LAMBS will help get everyone back up to tip top shape after the fight.

I absolutely love the Harbinger. It's my favorite ship.
Regardless of what you put on the Harbinger it *must* have 7x Heavy Pulse Laser II and 3x Heat Sink II for it to do what the Harbinger is meant to do..... bring the hurt.
If you ask me I think putting Focused Medium Pulses on a Harbinger is like fighting with one hand tied behind your back. For a good tank go for a Drake. The Harbinger is a crystal cannon. Light tank but a monster when it gets in your face.

Heres the gang/gank/comedy setup I got from Lyria skydancer and i've killed so much with it. like a curse that engaged me and popped before its drones could even get to me(I was tracking disrupted, he was mwding and i still hit). he lasted 10 seconds.
7 HP II (scorch m)
3 Sensor booster(scan res) (or two sensor booster and a warp disruptor)
3 Heat Sink II 3 Tracking enhancer II
5 Hammerhead II Has over 500 DPS, can hit intys, 28km optimal, just simply pops things before it even gets to armor. ------

The Harbinger is a great ship. You will find there are plenty of varieties of styles to kit it out. Most will stick to a certain template though
Highs HPLIIs: Personally, I use a mix, 5 and 2 FPLs to free up some grid for the other gear, still a great DPS, but a bit more balanced for my taste
Meds Medium cap with 800s and a MWD. If you are solo, the other 2 are web and scram, otherwise, targeting computers with tracking scripts. Cagro hold full of (10) 800s
Lows I mount a DCUII on everything. a minimum of one Heat sink is required....I am fairly certain I read that in the owner's manual. Personally, I prefer to avoid plate and go with higher resists and a MARII
Some might think the 2 HPLs downgraded to FPLII is a waste, but the DPS loss is minimal and I have a bit more PG for that MWD and a MARII.
Don't forget drones either...you have 50KM of space, use them. 5 ECMs are crazy good, but even 5 med combats at a nice DPS boost. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Kreul Intentions ([email protected])
