Now as for best console, the ps3 is fine but its pretty pricey, not to mention I plain out like the 360 better.

The PS3 comes at a comparable price now, and there aren't enough exclusive games for either system for that alone to swing my decision. When it came time to buy Rock Band, I bought a PS3 along with it. I just got a Wii in the last week (they're still almost impossible to find in my area). My friends had a blast with Tennis. Rock Band intimidates some people, as they feel they need actual musical skill to play (if you watch some of the YouTube vids, you'll know otherwise), so for party games, I think it'll be Wii all the way. Plus, there are exclusives for the Wii that actually matter (Metroid, Smash, Mario). The only PS3 exclusive I care about is GT5. Still, Rock Band and Burnout Paradise are a blast on the PS3. At this point, I struggle to see a reason for an x360.

Note the huge bump in sales the PS3 got last holiday season. Another season like that and the PS3 will probably surpass the 360. I aint no credit card monkey. oh and nintendo are nintendo, they get it <3

Then got a PS3 with The Darkness, Guitar hero III, Assassin's Creed (meh)... The 360 is inferior. It had over a year to build a library, and programmers to learn it. The PS3 is catching up, and some games (Burnout) show that the 360 simply cannot go where the PS3 will stay. Have you seen the Wipeout HD trailer, in 60 FPS and 1080 support? PS3 is the best choice for the future, IMHO.

But its turning point wasnt until GEARS was released, nearly 1 year on. The PS3 also one year on, has its killer app ( DRAKE, RACKET/CLANK). Its funny. I did the metrics on it ages ago using metacritic. Using that data and also other sites i was able to compare the first year in games on the 360 to the PS3. Now this is the surprising part. The Ps3 statistically has had a better first year in game reviews that the 360. Why? What i found was, the games during the first year of the 360s lifespan werent scoring the best. Now when the PS3 was released it was getting bad ports from the XB360 ported over, but these ports were actually scoring higher than the games that the 360 had giving a slightly higher mean. There wasnt much in it. The 360 had more games scoring lower, the PS3 had less, scoring slightly higher but end of. The ps3 has had a better 1st year than the 360 and like I said. It was released a year before, it better well damn have better dev`ed games. Also, the console war is far from over. Sony is doing well with its trojan horse console. The only region its not selling as fast as it would like is the US. But believe me this will change. I strongly believe Microsoft has caused a "gilted nation" to coin a phrase. All the games site i goto, im always reading peeps saying how ****ed off they are theyre 360 has failed so many times, and not only that, the drive is scratching games or not recognising discs. Even my sons 360 has refused to play his gears game, he had to get it exchanged, and now recently Call of Duty 4. Infact Google it, youll see huge lists of threads where players cant play said game. All in all. Microsoft has truel shafted its player base. Why buy a defective product at all? Would you spend money on any product if you knew before hand it had a 30% plus chance of failing? Would you spend the cash if you knew it had a 10% of failing? I know I wouldnt. ITs the bloody reason i ended up with a PS3, but I dont regret it, had good fun with it, looking forward to my new 42" LCD to play BluRays. Personally, I dont think MS done themselves any favors this gen. I personally think the fallout will come next gen.

Interestingly I am weighing up PS3 and 360 Elite at the moment. Leaving for uni and the 360 is my brothers, so either one would work. Main reason for getting a 360 would be for Halo3, but then again PS3 sounds like it might be worth seriously considering instead, I can allways buy Orange Box for the PC as opposed to my 360 version..... Azirapheal The Bastards	Posted - 2008.03.23 18:22:00 - [60] i dont have a TV beinga poor student :P my pc is everything to me, ive got a sick system built up around which my non working life is based, films, internet, gaming etc is all done on here. althougha few console games have grabbed my attention a little of late, notably assassins creed. but my big beef with many "modern" games is that they just dont have the same playability. my old playstation had tenchu - stealth assassins and its successors, FF7 FF8 FF9, GTA GTA2 RAYMAN, tekken, soulcalibur, tomb raider 1,2,3. to name a few greats, all games with massive amounts of playability. this was replaced by the PC with halflife a game which i can still hapilly waste a weekend playing through. but then i look at the new games. my mate has a 360 - halo3 completed in 6 hours, gears of war completed in 4 hours assassins creed? how long will that take me to complete? im guessing based on trends only a few hours in a hardcore session :( the thing that keeps me hooked to eve is that i still play the same game 3 years later, with different things going on. the things that kept me playing halflife were the mods and the fact that even the base game was EXPANSIVE i must have lost several months of my life to playing the FF games the ghey trend has even hit my favourite halflife series, hl2 - 12 hours of gaming ep 1 4 hours ep2 4 hours meh if this makes any sense to someone, tbh id rather play an old game on my ****ty playstation if it will occupy my time. snazzy graphics != fun
