Up until now, I've not yet introduced myself yet as a candidate. I was waiting for the confirmation mail before adding my information. (No sense in wasting everyone's time if I wasn't actually on the official candidate list.)
I play Dawnstar, and have done so since about the first week or so of Eve's existence. I've played in a number of different roles, from manufacturing and trade, to mission running, to PVP, to CEO. I've gone it alone as a solo player, worked as a member of small corporations, played as a director in big corporations. I've got a well-rounded background in Eve.
As far as issues, I have a number that I would like to bring up, but to me the biggest one is probably low security space (0.1-0.4). I think that the balance isn't quite right for those regions as things stand currently. Currently, they are, in most respects, more dangerous than 0.0. And that isn't really quite right. I think it is a big part of why there are so many players that are concentrated in high security space.
If I had to pick a slogan, I think I would go with:
"Working to improve the intricate balance of risk and reward that makes Eve so compelling."
What do I mean by that? I'll give an example:
One of my biggest concerns about the risk vs reward balance is probably low security space (0.1-0.4). I think that the balance isn't quite right for those area as the situation stands currently. At present, they are, in many respects, more risky than 0.0. And with lesser rewards as well. And that isn't really quite right. I think it is also a big part of why there are so many players that are concentrated in high security space. I'd like to see some of the mechanics changed to make low-security space more attractive.
I don't claim to have all of the solutions to problems like this. But one thing I do claim is that there are few playing Eve who are more concerned about the long-term quality and health of the game.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope that you will consider casting a vote for me at election time.
