why the hell do rats agress drones, its just a pita for ratters to wait hours for all the rats to agress you before you launch your drones and theres no feeling better than losing yet another set of ogres to a stupid disconnect. it serves no purpose other than to annoy the heck out of domi pilots and i am sick of losing all my drones needlesly.
(didn't just lose 5 ogres trying to rat and failing miserably)

Hours? LMFAO!!! Toss some rails on your ratting ship and agress them first. Once you start firing on them and they are within their range they will fire upon you. I suggest you either learn to control your drones or train up your drone skills some more. BTW, you are launching your drones after they are all agressing you, right? ------------------------------------

I have been using Hammerhead II's for a while now with both my domi and myrm, and have never lost a single one. If you want quick aggro, fit a gun or target painter and shoot at the rats - they insta-agress then :).
On the other hand...
Would you trust something with teeth but no eyes!?!?!

I wasn't trying to troll but your 'hours to rat' remark made me laugh. I have never had belt rats attack my drones if I got aggro first then launched the drones. The IQ of the AI on NPC ships is pretty low. If you lost 5 Ogre II's then you aren't agressing the ships correctly to keep your drones safe. ------------------------------------

I have no clue where your problem is. My drones NEVER catch aggro.
Just open fire on them first, then they are more interested in you than the drones.

I think what the OP wanted to say is that his drones were out and he disconnected and when he came back the ratts where killing his drones sitting inactive in space?

Yeah, in that case they shouldn't shoot them but instead scoop them in and drop them again when they go pop. -------- Ideas for: Mining Clouds

Edited by: Kaleidon Reth on 02/04/2008 11:24:43 Not to mention the oh so fun missions where you have something akin to 15BSs with support in the mission and launching your drones will accomplish either:
a) full room aggro on first your drones, then you if you scoop.
b) full room aggro on your drones, making anything that isn't a sentry drone go *pop* in a matter of seconds.
Edit: and yes I am suggesting that if missiles started to cause full room aggro when used it would be fixed in a hotfix before even the next patch, while drones seem to have been broke forever.

Edited by: KiiLLa on 02/04/2008 12:02:20 Ancient problem. In large missions sometimes rats actually loose interest in you and go for the drones, which are pounding a BS 50 km out and take a few minutes to return.
Another pesky problem is disconnects. Tell me, why don't turrent users drop their turrets to be shot down by rats when they DC? <sig>{string not found}</sig> Boost tractors?

Drones should go to bay when disconnecting, at least, when the emergency warp procedure is called, the drones should have a return to dronebay order, it would save lights, maybe meds and sentries sitting by you. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

Oh hell yes. One day, for SOME reason, I got disconnected five times. My drones were only out one of those times thankfully, and they were just t2 lights anyways. All dead though.
It is REALLY annoying to warp back into a mission after a DC, only to watch my drones, which have gone into a coma, be popped one by one by rats that won't agress me even while I slam missiles into them. I could have gotten MOST of them back if they would simply have obeyed a "return to drone bay" order, but nooooooo. Why won't drones reconnect when the owner comes back on grid?
If someone warps out, fine, leave the drones there, it was their choice, but dammit, I have a passive Drake, I can sit there all day and in 95% of the missions I do, nothing will ever break that tank.
Also, it's annoying to be sitting there and having random stuff warp in, and then notice that they started killing my drones because they were closer.
