Greetings. I am part of a corporation newly established - it's now about a month and a half old, I should think - composed of one and a half dozen people, many of them alts or newbs. In the core are a couple of industrial or mining specced characters, including myself.
We were planning to work up a bit, get some powerful core characters, work up a nice corporation and so forth, before moving into 0.0 and doing some serious business. And we were doing just fine - growing quite steadily, doing mining ops regularly and keeping up a continuous production line of diverse objects which we put up for sale quite successfully. Until one day another corp, the members of which we(the core/founders/hot-shots) know by an internet forum, declared war upon us. I'm sad to say the effect was disastrous. Before we knew it they camped our station almost all the time and blew up numerous ships as some of our weaker characters attempted to undock.
While I don't exactly hold sympathies for the people who camp us, I don't think they're doing anything wrong or so. To the contrary I think it's an exciting and fascinating system even though I should think it requires a little more balancing - the fees are a little ridiculous considering that it provides constant kill rights in any system. Any how, this is not a rant. This is a question:
What can a corp like us - composed of industrialists and miners - do to break out of this? Is there any alliance we can turn to for help? I would expect them to pull a July Ultimatum upon us should we try to surrender. Most of our corp members are locked up in the station being camped, so we cannot form any kind of actual resistance. Even so, they are powerful gits and stay in numbers. I'm currently staying a handful of jumps away, doing missions and the like, but the rest of our corp is locked up. I just can't see a solution to our problems.

As a neutral observer in this conflict, by virtue of knowing both parties...
It's not really "camping" when there's a Punisher and two Rifters running about the system, is it?

Of their five combat characters, three are less than a week old.

Granted. But they obviously have destroyed a number of our ships? And where have I ever, even once, said that we are any good? We're quite adept at mining and building things. But when it comes to combat we can tops blow up a couple of rats. And this is our problem. Relatively, they're powerful, and they are still sitting around for quite some time outside our station disabling our possibilities of doing anything at all.

why? Get a couple of rifters, punishers etc from the station, get on Teamspeak together mass undock and attack have a poke around on these forums and use eve search for some decent frig setups. And concentrate your fire ie, all focus on killing one person then move onto the next!

Your thinking of moving into 0.0 but your corp is falling apart because of 3 t1 frigates camping your corp in a station?
Sounds to me like bad leadership on your part, with unrealistic goals.

Read what Insession said and ignore the rest.
If you are new to pvp, you may want to read this topic:
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=520028
Other than that, in the "Corporations and Alliances Summit" Forum are several merc forces looking for work. On the 1st page there are 4 groups looking for a job already. Check that forum out, I am sure you will find someone that will do the pew pew for you for cheap.
Good luck in growing, it will take a while and lots of knowledge to move into 0.0 one day :-)

What part is hard to understand?
We have little to no real offensive capability. We literally poured our money into the corp. We had just started, as I ******* said, and all we were doing was establishing a capital to go on from there. Nearly all of our active players are very new characters as well! Me myself may play a character created in -06 but I've only played three or four months total, and even so it's a frecking rotten character!

Erresley,
An industrial corp without teeth does not deserve to live.
My suggestion would be to Jump out of your implants and fight them. As you do more combat your skills will improve.
Any Corp / Alliance that needs another to deal with small gangs does not deserve to live or hold space.

Erresley, this situation has happened to most players at some point. This is really the make and break time of the game for many new players because they find it hard to understand why they are being attacked for no reason - especially when they are quite defenseless. Theres only one reason for it:
This is EVE.
That's about the only reason you will ever get that will make any sense of why bad stuff happens in this game. As long as you remember that you will bounce back and learn from all your experiences.
I would advise you to equip all your members in cheap frigates and fight back. Firstly by doing this you are showing your enemy that your corp has some backbone and integrity, secondly you are picking up skills you will probably need at some point in your eve careers.
If you wish to stick it out and fight but can't afford frigates then contact me in game, I will sponsor you.

Edited by: Doddy on 23/03/2008 22:02:27 All you need to do is realise that pvp is practically free in eve. If you are as industry orientated as you say you should be able to supply yourself with a near infinite supply of t1 ships and mods. So equipped many starter-indy corps have fought off the attentions of the many high sp/experience greifer corps that abound in eve these days. The fact that it is apparently a handful of fellow noobs that is giving you this trouble means you are in deep doo-doo. If you can't fight your way out of this how can you ever think you would have a future in 0.0? The only way to learn to fight in eve is by dieing, probably alot. If you are not willing to this at a very little cost (lose 10 fully insured t1 fitted cruisers and it will cost you about the same as the insurance cost on a bs) you should just give up.
Also if you are actually stuck in station you can change your clone location, then when you die you will clone back to the new location.

At some point, you have to stand up for yourselves. Accept the fact that you are going to take losses, and go out and either hire (and work in conjunction with, if possible) a merc corp, OR go out and kick them in the balls and run. Hit and run tactics have been explained by tons of people more accomplished than me, but here is a collection of some guides you can look to find more info:
http://www.allabouteveonline.net/playerguides.htm
Attrezzo Pox's EvE PvP Guide is of particular interest, as is the Carebear's guide to PvP. Do some research and lead your people. Experience is priceless in this game, and you should be looking at this as an opportunity to get it for free. Have fun.

Doddy, Actually getting a JC was the 1st thing I made myself do on each of my mains. Not something I want to do again because I dont really love missions. But its not that hard to get empire JC standing. If they lack that its some thing they should get ASAP.
Also try this link for the Goon 101 videos. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=goonfleet%20101&search=Search&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&spell=1
Also, I suggest you fly heavier ships then frigs, use insurance and the cost should be minimal with decent cheap stuff you can get in empire.

Heh, nice thread Erry. Some super-unsympathetic answers that made me laugh. Yes, this is indeed Eve. The game that is every griefer's wet dream.
I'm the CEO of said corp, also a noob more or less. And yes, fighting back is a solid idea, and as I have a fairly strong anti-frig Brutix it shouldn't really be that hard. Well, except for two things that haven't been mentioned in the thread: 1) They got a ****en mega, and 2) they have TONS more actual player skill, it doesn't matter if the characters are 3 days old when the players know precisely what to do. We are NOT being decced by a noob corp, let it be said.
Hiring mercs sounds like the best idea atm. Thanks to everyone who gave constructive feedback. I'll find a solution that'll keep this from happening again. You can never be 100% safe in Eve, that's what I've learned, but you can minimize the risks. |

Oh my.. the beauty of this situation is lost on most. You guys actually have a chance to fight using small ship gangs with nearly-equal skill between both corps. isn't that beautiful?
Erresley you could of course hire 'mercs' but that would ultimately lock you down even more as an overspecialized corporation and just so you know; over-specialization leads to stagnation and death.
In short - learn to fight, at least somewhat.. At least try to.

First I would say you guys need to take alittle break from industry. Then (it wont take alot of time)get around half your guys trained up with some basic electronic warefare skills so they can use ecm.If you get half your ppl using ecm then it wont matter how many skill points your war targets have. Then you can go out in frigate gangs and pop them .In the meantime have a couple ppl start training towards being able to drive interceptors so eventualy you will have some fast tacklers.Even industrialist need to have combat skills to be able to defend themselves.I'm sorry to say that what has happened to your corp is something that has become an epidemic in empire. There has been an explosion of small griefer corps in empire. Yup Hiring some Merc's would help/may solve this situation Im sure being industrial you may have the isk to pay for one. If not Get your guys who can fly caldari into some T1 EW Frigs/or Cruiser aka Griffin/Blackbird Have you guys train the basics in Jamming Racial type. And get some guys to set up some fast T1 Frig to bump the punks away from the station. Undock all at the same time Lock/Jam...Fast ships bump/web/scram Shoot them And they have no place to run or shoot you back call it a day :) Fun Setup? How about this TRICK them :) Undock in a Hauler Itty 5 maybe Armor Tank...Mids Web/scram Pull those suckers away from the station bait them Lock/web/scram have the rest of your guys undock and pew pew :D MUWAHAHA

Xerox, that's a pretty silly accusation considering I haven't even mentioned where and who is actually doing this. At the moment I am drafting a couple of mails off to some mercs to see what can be done.
Course, I believe that the war has stopped off for a moment but it's still slightly worrying that they have full kill rights on us anywhere at any time. Damn, it was even easier when they were camping us, at least then we knew where we stood! :D

Whats with this mentality of "everyone must pvp whether they want to or not"?
Merc corps are kept in business due to corps like this, so it seems like a good thing to me.
Also, its a pretty well written post, without much whining or begging or any of that ****. He understands the situation and is seeking a solution.
