Personally, I wouldn't care that much if they did. I just don't think it will really fix anything.
All it will do is make life harder on the average noob who scrapes by to buy his first Cruiser or battlecruiser but loses it. It wouldn't help suicide gankers any either as it cuts into their profits.
You could argue that it would be a good isk sink which the game needs but most vets know how to make lots of isk in a jiffy and they won't even blink. Again, it only hurts the new players who haven't established a good isk making proffesion yet.

Dont see how it would hurt the noob any.. the way ive 'though' it up, it'd only renig the insurance on the 'aggresser' in 0.5 or higher space.. not the one getting shot at.. so the only time it'd hurt any new players are those that get scamed into firering on someone in 0.5 or higher space befor the persone they shoot at commits a criminal act.

Sorry, i wasn't talking about your idea. I just meant if they nerfed insurance in general like a lot of people have suggested here and in past threads.
Your idea sounds like it would completely eliminate high sec ganking and pirates would have to resort back to flipping miner's cans to get targets. I don't think THEY would like that.
I only do my pvping in Low sec and 0.0 so I couldn't care less.

Edited by: Selena Rayne on 25/03/2008 06:00:27 EvE needs perma death before it can be labeled a "Hardcore" game. When you die you just respawn back in your clone, get a new ship and you are off again...not much different from WoW apart from being more time consuming and a expensive. Perma death would bring the immersion value back to the game, engagements would have to be carefully chosen and the political aspect of the game would have a far greater relevance.

Don't take this as an insult, Hasak, but to be honest what you said here is a typical noob viewpoint. New players listen to the carebears who sit in highsec mining, getting ganked by JihadSwarm, crying about getting ganked by JihadSwarm, and running missions, and getting ninja-salvaged in their mission spaces and crying about getting ninja-salvaged in their mission spaces, but having no recourse because if they mine, they'll get JihadGanked.

You've missed my point here, Hasak. You said in the first post I quoted, which I re-quote now that people who PvP in T2 ships are rich or are part of a rich corp/alliance that pays for their ships.
In your reply to that, you reiterate the same belief, saying:
Originally by: Hasak Rain My point in my reply however was that just because {some} people can fly around and afford to lose poorly insured T2 ships doesn't mean this is the norm nor is it a good enough reason to have insurance nerfed.
This suggests that you think that everybody who flies poorly insured T2 ships is rich or part of a rich corporation, and I hold that it is not an absolute fact of EVE that everyone who PvPs in something other than a Tech 1 frigate is rich.
In my alliance there are a number of pilots who run around in Sacrileges and Vagabonds and such and when they lose them, they're back in 0.0, grinding sec status and ISK by ratting in their Tier 1 battleships (Typhoon ftw?) to be able to afford a new HAC or Recon or whatever they lost.
Just as you said nothing about actual combat situations directly, nor did I say anything in support or against the current Insurance system (which, for the record, I haven't got any problems with)
I also said "don't take this as an insult", but the powerful emo-ness of your reply suggests you did, so have fun with your defeatist attitude towards EVE and I hope you enjoy whatever game you eventually quit for.
"I can't go to lowsec and play in PvP because everybody is richer than me and they haz moar SPz and I'll get wtfpwnt by thar uber 1337ness so I haz to stay in highsec." is the attitude I was addressing, and you have it in spades if your first post is to be believed.
If that's not so, then good, you're better off for it. :)

Hahah... you described me perfectly there. I fly T2 ships as long as I can keep them, but when they do pop I'm out that 100-200mil and pretty much have to get back out and rat for a week or two to replace my loss (notice I'm not in an alliance, makes it fun )
That is, unless someone wants to jump a deadspace tanked mission ship into my area and be kind enough not to let the good stuff go pop ------------
