The title is kind of a lie, there's no real personality test. It's actually a survey. Anyway, who likes anecdotal data with a small population sample and obtained without proper scientific methods? The answer is: everyone, because then you can have nice armchair economist/psychologist/trollologist discussions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Respond with your Myers-Briggs type and what you actually like to do in EVE, or would prefer to do if it weren't for no money / stuck as a CEO perma-docked and managing spreadsheets / perma-wardecced, etc. Optionally, add what you hate doing.
Don't know your type but curious? This is pretty good: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
INTP
Enjoy and do: Industry (mostly T2 module manufacturing) and solo or very small group wormhole-based PvP (including crawling out of K162's in k-space for surprise pew) just for fun and to burn all that industry-derived money, not specifically for fat lootz or tears.
Dislike and avoid, or suck at: missions, trading (like professional trading, not just selling crap I make), politics, suicide ganking, scamming, being a formal figurehead of a group of people. |
For the past year (?) I've been doing mostly solo pvp and a few months ago went -10.0 after I got bored of the blob mentality in FW and decided it was time to find targets outside of FW. I enjoy hunting for targets and I enjoy a good fight even if losing does sometimes make me feel frustrated (especially when I lose because of ECM). currently not very active ingame though, too much eve last month.
What do I hate doing? Sitting in organised fleets with FC's and just generally following orders when I can make my own decisions. I hate doing missions and making money that way. Missions are like a job you go to just because you need the money while you actually hate the job itself. |
ENTP (1/75/62/22)
I've done these tests a few times, and I swing between INTP and ENTP depending on my recent moods. That puts me on the line between Inventor and Architect, which probably describes my personality quite well.
I enjoy: Small gang PVP, pushing the limits of the game, finding unique ways to make money, and infiltration.
I dislike: Being a cog in the machine of a large fleet/alliance, anything that becomes a tedious activity, and dealing with stupid people. |
I'm a Guardian -- ISTJ.
I like making ISK through spaceship combat. I've been a -10 pirate taking stuff by force and then selling it, and I've been a carebear killing NPCs. My most recent endeavors involve making ISK hand over fist by killing Sansha. I also like accumulating a pile of shinies to look at, though most of the time I end up buying the shinies, fitting them up, saying to myself "cool I have that" for a while, and then repackaging the shinies and selling them.
Market PvP sucks the big one. It simply takes too long, and there are too many 0.01-ISKers out there. I usually end up selling way under value just so I get rid of it quickly. |
Heh, pretty much, this is why EVE is such a great game in my opinion, you *can* have great fun just doing your own thing your own way I don't even like to make my own rules, or stick to plans. I just do things until I feel like I have a good handle on them and then drop them until whenever, without ever being really really good at anything because idgaf about min-maxing, and I don't feel like a scrub who can't play on the same field as the l33t people.
Also, if you're not on edge between the [IE], [NS], [FT], [PJ] categories, the type descriptions are pretty disgustingly accurate. I was quite amazed by that. |
Idealist Portrait of the Healer
Healers present a calm and serene face to the world, and can seem shy, even distant around others. But inside they're anything but serene, having a capacity for personal caring rarely found in the other types. Healers care deeply about the inner life of a few special persons, or about a favorite cause in the world at large. And their great passion is to heal the conflicts that trouble individuals, or that divide groups, and thus to bring wholeness, or health, to themselves, their loved ones, and their community.
Healers have a profound sense of idealism that comes from a strong personal sense of right and wrong. They conceive of the world as an ethical, honorable place, full of wondrous possibilities and potential goods. In fact, to understand Healers, we must understand that their deep commitment to the positive and the good is almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. Set off from the rest of humanity by their privacy and scarcity, Healers can often feel even more isolated in the purity of their idealism.
It's a really faithful representation of me.
Hehe I have been an actual healer in some games  Maybe it's not a random chance that I started the one Charity in EvE.
Am I even playing the right game?
It told me I'm INFJ but I'm INTP. I'm actually both Introverted and Extroverted, with the Introverted being slightly stronger (sort of a 80% I, 70% E relationship). I don't understand why it scores me iNtuitive vs Sensing, but I seem to have a fundamental disconnect when it comes to understanding what actually defines those two as different beyond their arbitrary separation as per the test. But as for the other two...I'm very strongly Thinking with the Feeling ALWAYS taking a backseat. I'm in tune with my emotions and I don't ignore them, but facts always trump opinions. Also, while my human nature tells me to believe the first thing that seems right, I battle that nature and go with the scientific method. I always try to assess my reality in the best way possible rather than accept anything I don't know is true. Therefore I am strongly Perceiving, and hardly Judging at all.
What amuses me is the fact that the test says that around 1% of people are INTP, yet INTP seems to be the most common as so far in this thread. (Test says I'm INTP, typically flip flop between INTP and ENTP).
I'm actually curious if this is because EVE attracts INTP personalities on the whole, or if it has more to do with the fact that we're on an internet forum. Or both I suppose. |
INTJ (Mastermind)
Enjoy: Any PvP as long as it's not mandatory, exploration, making ISK in as many ways as I can, leading a corp, teaching others Dislike: Mandatory OPs, high taxes, "elitist" approach to the game by any player |
I so hate these black-and-white YES/NO tests, but this time (with several questions where I was unsure what to answer) I got:
ISFJ (78%, 1%, 12%, 22%)
And I do trading currently. I play usually solo so at least Introverted is right.
I like helping others, so at least part of http://keirsey.com/4temps/protector.aspx does fit.
Anyway, I do remember that at least once got INTP as result, so I really don't trust these tests much.
Haha, Field Marshall? Interesting, I am sure some people out there would disagree with my evaluation.
Like:
- Ganking people
- Exploring
- Trying to make ISK
Dislike:
- Large fleets
- Lack of fights
I like making ISK through spaceship combat. I've been a -10 pirate taking stuff by force and then selling it, and I've been a carebear killing NPCs. My most recent endeavors involve making ISK hand over fist by killing Sansha. I also like accumulating a pile of shinies to look at, though most of the time I end up buying the shinies, fitting them up, saying to myself "cool I have that" for a while, and then repackaging the shinies and selling them.
Market PvP sucks the big one. It simply takes too long, and there are too many 0.01-ISKers out there. I usually end up selling way under value just so I get rid of it quickly.
This is odd, as I am also a Guardian (ISTJ), but almost to the t the exact opposite of you.
I despise spaceship PvP and am not super fond of ratting or incursions, and I enjoy working the markets to my favor. I also refuse to sell things at a loss lol 95% of the players are loving EVE, the other 5%? On the forums. |
i like changing skills, explosions, frigates and cruisers, making the number in the wallet bigger, telling someone how i do something and watching them do it that way, and thinking up cool ways to ruin someone's day
i dislike market pvp, pi, building (but invention is cool), telling someone how i do something and watching them do it some other way, giving ccp my money, the price of plex, and all capitals (ships, letters, cities, ect...) |
What they don't tell you is...if you put up with the test past question 5 you qualify for a disorder. From 6 on it's just a matter of how bad the disorder really is. HNLS or, Has No Life Syndrome.
