Ok.
So are you saying that subscription numbers and usage levels drop after every patch?
Or, are you using the data to tell which patches are the ones 'most hated' if you will.
The number of people that play after a patch surely goes down.
Me, for example.. am on my 3rd character having played my first in the latter half of 2003, before there was even T2... I know how badly patches can go so I will not play after a patch.
I will usually patch up, log in and look at stuff - almost never undocking and then log out and return days to a week later.
Not everyone does this, but those that remember patches that went south... know what I am talking about.
The location of the eve server graphs escapes me at the moment, but I m curious about your theory.

Well, I'm saying two things really:
1. If someone is talking about an EVE patch on the forums long enough, eventually someone will compare it to the NGE fiasco
2. If someone is going to compare an EVE patch to said fiasco, they must back up their claim by showing that maximum user counts have decreased (consistently) immediately before and no later than one month after the patch was deployed and that this decrease is equal to or greater than 15%

I'm still missing the point, probably since I have no clue what NGE is, other then some basic and meaningless reference to Luke Skywalker fighting his father Count Duku or something like that and ..................... stuff.

You have to admit that CCP is doing an NGE'ish thing with this expansion, by basically not listening to ANYONE and ramming it down our throats. This plus the TV advertising definitely smells of "we want a target audience" thinking which is what went into the NGE.

Heh, I honestly don't remember who inspired me to write it. But usually there are at least a dozen people who claim that every major patch is CCP's NGE. I thought it had the right combination of relevence and entertainment value.

I believe you mean "Jedi went from Hard Mode + Awesome Powers to a class you can start with, that still has all those Awesome Powers. If you're not a Jedi in the NGE, you might as well not play. The only subscribers left are the 7 year olds sitting in front of their computers with Darth Vader hats on and a lightsaber on their belt. "OMGWTFLOLBBQ!!!11!!! I IZ JEDIZ!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!" (Throw in a bit of panting/drooling, and you get the idea.) And yes, I played pre-NGE. SWGEmu ftw.
