I was poking around the online gaming wiki and came across this charmingly antique reference to EVE which lists the highest number of people logged into the server as 14,000 simultaneous users.

Now the highest I have seen is about 42,000 people. Anyone happen to know what the record actually is?

I think it's 43,600-something. It may be in the news archive.

Actually that's probably a very high number, a lot of people use multiple accounts...

I fondly remember the broadcast in chat when we exceeded 10,000 players for the first time. Those were the days!
