I have to venture probably 10 jumps into lowsec to get some cargo. This cargo will be worth a lot of isk, and be approx 3k m^2.
It looks like this will demand an industrial ship, but I could run it in smaller loads if necessary for security.
I have two pilots: 23m sp w/ gal industrial 5 13m sp w/ minnie industrial 4
I can not use transport ships, but it seems like that might just draw extra attention.
Should I do this in sort of a convoy? What ships should I go with?
I am thinking go for an iteron3 with wcs/nanos and maybe a e-war frig for a little more protection?
Any other ideas?

How valuable is valuable?
How many jump detour is avoiding low sec?
Through what low sec area? Rancer is a bad idea in general, but some dead end group with low activity is pretty safe to travel through. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

use blockade runner Fit a cloak to be on the safe side. Scout the way first with Cov op and set up a full set of BM for each gate and system u need to pass. This along with blokade almost insta warp and the no bubble in low sec should make it safe.

Uh why are you pulling that one sentence in his response out of context as fail?
If you follow his advice its pretty sound if you don't have to deal with bubbles - which don't exist in low sec.

You might consider setting up a courier contract with an apropriate collatral, and let someone else do the flying.
I would sugest that for 11 jumps of low sec, then a 10 mil reward should attract a courier even if the collatral is up to 500 mil.

I want to do this right - I am unsure of the exact area I will be going, but I don't think it will be any of the "main" areas.
I guess I will have to train to use the transport ship. Got to get industry 5 still, + the 30M isk for skill + cost of ship.
The cargo will be worth approx 1bil. Scary!
Gives me bad memories of running from Yulai out to my previous 0.0 home in the FA back in the day. At leas bookmarks are not critical anymore....

Hictor bubbles are bubbles too and those exist in lowsec. Claiming there are no bubbles in lowsec is therefore: fail. __

If it's worth 1 bil I wouldn't pick it up without a Scout, no matter what I was flying.
That said, if you DO have a scout then 10 jumps shouldn't be a problem. Fail back at yah. The HICs can't use their bubbles in low sec, only the focused infinipoint on ONE target. There are NO bubbles in low sec.

Scientific or real - whatever you consider both modes - you call it: "something else" your choice...
His point was: no bubbles aka no warp scrambling/disruption (assuming enough stabs) - that point is a fail. Whatever you name it in your endless wisdom __

What about spilting the cargo up? If you use t2 expanders some of the t1 frig's could do that in 5 or 6 runs. I can get a 650m3 can in my probe that way - hence some cargos I can carry are 720m3. Each cargo then is 200 million. Its pretty fricken hard to catch a frigate.
Run isn't partcularily great, but for a billion that's in the region of suicide ganking as well. Eggs and one basket comes to mind.
Personally I'm paranoid as well, so I'd use different routes...

and you're just arguing for the sake of arguing.. there are no bubbles in lowsec, what makes bubbles dangerous is not the fact that they have infinite points, but the fact that the ship doesn't need to get locked to be scrammed. Therefore, the fact that there are no bubbles means the blockade runners (which, as said before, can almost instawarp), will have little trouble with HIs, since they won't be able to lock them

No Hydro he said -instawarp- + -no bubbles- = safe
From the above he clearly meant the "no need to target" aspect of bubbles and not the "infinite point" aspect of the HIC low sec tool so your point was a miscomprehension. Say sorry to the nice man and lets step out of this thread :) Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

Hehehe I got a good laugh - I was going to correct you but your corp mate did.
It would be cool if you could use bubbles in 0.1 space - but still have sentries (and sec status penalties) like low sec. It would be a neat if all the 0.0 entrance points to empire were these 0.1 'hybrid' zones.
For that matter I'd be a fan of making 0.5 space have the same concord rules it has now, but allow outlaws to fly in them without police interference (ofc if outlaw does a criminal act he can be concorded - and of cyou still have your free shot on an outlaw).
Make it another 'hybrid' security zone where players would get a transition point between security systems. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game.

I don't know that other routes are an option. I will have to check later, but I think its like 5+ jumps into like .3 sec areas.
I do think that splitting it up would probably be a good idea. Will have to check the routes to see if thats viable.
Why is there not a small cargo ship with say frig like stats and 1000m^3 of cargo space? =/
Would a destroyer work, or are they a lot easier to catch than a frig?

Dont get*****y. Instwarp is nice but for 1 bill we can arrange a multi boosted multi supported instlock and that will just make you poorer. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

to the OP the "two" pilots you speak of, if they are on seperate accounts, one scounts in a ceptor/covertops/shuttle the other uses a iteron 5, 5lows = 2stabs, 3nanos to alligne faster.

Destroyers generally warp align slower than a frig. Becasuse of there size they generally are also easier to lock.

I wish there was... Personally would like to see the tier 2 mining frigates reused as specialised t2 salvage vessels. The tormentor, navitas, bantam and burst. They'd need extra cargo, and the mining bonus changed to salvage. Give me one of those with a 1000m3 cargo (expanders/rigs included) and I think I'd spend rather a lot of time in it...

Uhmm in regards to Frigate with 1.000 m¦ - that would be a rigged Probe.
In regards to transport stuff through lowsec, my personal favorite on highly valuable stuff would be a rigged Pilgrim with MWD. 1.000m¦ + Cargo and Covert Ops cloak. As long as you are not unlucky (eg. spawning on container after jump) you are safe on "JumpDecloak+instaCloak+MWD" after jump. __

There is. It's called a Blockade Runner. Seriously.
I stuck two Low Friction Nozzle Joints, an I-Stab II and two Nanofiber IIs on my Viator and it warps nearly as fast as my Incursus.
Sure, a remote sensor boosted HIC might catch you if they have lighting fast reactions, but it's not likely.
If that's not enough, stick an improved cloak and MWD on there. Double click in the direction you want to warp, hit the MWD, then hit the cloak. When the MWD shuts down, click off the cloak and hit warp. Boom, insta-warp.
Nothing in low sec can touch you unless they get a lucky bump in to stop you from aligning. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Can't find a mechanical engineering agent? Need a non-Caldari Navy agent? http://www.eve-agents.com/ for all your agent needs! |
