Forum used to be a lot more helpfull atleast, nowadays the posts that simply ask for help on something legitimate are getting plowed under by all the whinage going on.
Like some people stated it was much better in yea ol' golden days of EVE when there weren't a gazzillion WoW kiddies running around as well!!! There i said it, i said the horrible words, i accuse hordes of people of beeing former WoW kiddies and i wish u would all **** off back to where u came from instead of ruining this wonderfull game. _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

I yearn for Bioware's forums. They banned people for not being civil.

I used to post at INA. This place is much worse, and that's no small achievement.
It's no problem for me really, I can go either way; but there it is. ______________________________

Some of the things people come up with that supposedly cause inflation in eve are ridiculous.
However you are right about people telling other players how to play the game, I guess the only way to avoid that is to not use the forums

Learn to read at the speed of scrolling. That's what I do and occasionally stop if I see that one interesting post. This ain't going to change - it is human nature. Also keep in mind that it is a game so (most) people don't treat seriously what they post here and don't think much before hitting the reply button. They just want to have fun trolling.
Originally by: Zerena Draco Next interesting discovery is that: Some veterans proudly smack into newbies that higher SP doesnt matter and that anyone with a rifter and a smart sense can start pvping in lowsec if they just learn the mechanics... "harr, harr"
"anyone even tried that recently I can say the newbie space is filled with old veterans tired of 0.0 space looking for some easy pew pew stealing newbies loot to get them to start a fight"
I've made a lot of new characters that all started in newbie zones. Somehow I haven't noticed them being filled with 2+ year old dudes trying to bait rookies. At this level most players would prefer to engage in something more interesting than seeing noobships fight. I was ratting in an Atron in some starter system, getting the that newbie experience all over again, and it was another newbie that went after me. 1 month old character stealing my loot in his Thorax and waiting for me to attack him.
Yes newbies suffer mostly because they lack knowledge of game mechanics not because they do not have those 10+ million skill points. They lose cruisers in missions because they do not know how difficult those missions will be. They lose them in low sec because they do not know about existence of ship scanner or that they should watch local chat. They lose them in war decs because they do not know how to use intel, noobship scouts, fly as part of a gang, how to set up a base and keep all ships and mods together, what the hell jump clones are for, etc. All this knowledge in game is valued much higher than those 15-20 million of sp on your character. If you do not believe me, watch people buy high sp characters from eBay, see what happens to them, then tell me how skill points are soooo very important.
Originally by: Zerena Draco At the same time you can find these veterans defending every last SP to the death and you usually find them under topics as "remove Achura race" etc... "kinda strange isnt it"
Skill points bring variety. Variety means more fun for the player. If i'm a 5 mil sp noob yes I'm going to be stuck flying battlecruiser and cruisers of the same race. Kind of boring isn't it? If I'm a 20 mil sp vetaran I can fly all kinds of tech II ships. More fun coming from just flying one battlecruiser or cruiser. As for "remove Achura race cries" when you get to veteran status you do not gain any levels after just a few hours or a day training like newbies do. All your training starts taking close to a week to gain just one level, if not several weeks or a month. Imagine training several weeks to gain some miserly 5% bonus to something. And if you haven't rolled your character in the best way possible and you see all these Achuras training at lightening speed, I bet you're going to feel some pangs of jealousy.
Originally by: Zerena Draco * Lvl 4 missioning is just low risk with great rewards. = (inflation! 1bn isnt that much anymore)
Inflation actually came with invention. When your cap recharger II's and expanded cargohold II's cost 30m and your Hulk cost you 500m people would lose much more money in any conflict. Sure we have rigs now, but most players consider them optional, unlike modules. 1b isn't that much money any more, but it is not because players keep running those low risk lvl 4 missions (in fact missions had several nerfs applied to them).

Agreed, and I wonder why I do it anymore. I am usually the first to dismiss talk of the "good ol' days", but I think with regard to this particular forum, it may hold some truth.
There are always going to be people that complain about one aspect of the game or another, but really things are going beyond that now. Its incessant whining on one side, and on the other its people ridiculing them and patting each other on the back for how "hardcore" they are.
I just need to heed my own advice, I think, and browse every forum but this one.

From what I've heard, the actual worst online community is the GameFaqs.com forums.
Don't they have boards that only people with a certain number of posts can see? Like, five different ones? ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79.3 (Updated 3/24) |

Next interesting discovery is that: Some veterans proudly smack into newbies that higher SP doesnt matter and that anyone with a rifter and a smart sense can start pvping in lowsec if they just learn the mechanics... "harr, harr"
For one my Son who has played the game for what maybe 2 months has been PvP'ing since day one. And has done rather well. He was on the loosing end for a while but he learned to adapt and start beating "older" players in a RIFTER!
It is blatantly obvious that you have no clue about PvP and or never really put in any effort into it.
As far as the disparity of the SP gap, look at all these other online games that you have to grind endlessly to just get some decent skills. And the ones that has been in the longest will never be caught unless they die of a twinkie overdose. That kind of grinding game kills off all the casual players and there is no hope for them at all. At least whilst you are part time you can continue to train with out chaining your self to the keyboard burring out brain cells reparative grinding up levels.
You are trying to disguise a whine thread in a "hey guys lets fix this post". Part of the problem with this forum is that Trolls like your self spewing crap about things you have no clue about.
So you can stuff your passive aggressive post about telling people how to play the game and start learning how to play it before you start posting about how to make changes.
Rant over.
