You can probably just google it and get the 411 on non-controlled CCP forums.
This is just a suggestion; however, as I am not proactively trying to give detailed instructions on how to abuse a bug. I was merely trying to inform the uninformed. What to watch out for, keeping your ship safe, etc, etc.
But I guess if you really want to know the exact detail, go ahead (all of you curious eve pod pilots), and fill out a petition to ask what said sploit is. I am sure that 100k+ bug questions will be answered properly and in a timely manner.

By petition. If you're thinking of doing something that sounds similar to what is descibed in the news then fire off a petition (I think it goes under exploit).
"I can do X. Is this naughty?"
It takes a couple of minutes to describe your plan and thirty seconds for the GM to respond with "Dear Gods, don't do that" or "Your griefing is approved" or whatever.
Thank you.

In the meantime, it is and will almost certainly remain CCP's policy to not explain how to casually break the game rules to the uninformed masses until such a time as they can no longer do it.
Or GM replies: ------------------------------- It's possible to do so of course you can do it. -------------------------------
After which you are banned. Which is what this amounts to.
If it's a bannable offence, we have a right to know what it is. Buying or selling isk for RL cash has not been solved but we are all told it's bannable.
It's like making a new state law but not telling anyone what it is. Therefore, people don't know if they are breaking that law.
@Frederick Lyrus: If your idea of petitioning was actually used, the GM's would be flooded with petitions for totally inane reasons.
"I have a T2 Scordite crystal in my laser and I can mine Veldspar with it. Is this allowed or can I be banned for doing it?"

IF you do this, you'll be banned.
Makes perfect sense to me.

Originally by: Poreuomai That may or may not be the case (I have no idea because I don't know what it is, though I will take you at your word because you are a very trusted player) but generally it seems a bit silly for CCP to say 'something' is a bannable offence without actually saying what it is.
Well generally, if a bank was hacked, would they make a pressrelease detailing how the bank was hacked? That would most likely open up to even more attempts in similar ways as well as same ways.
Maybe not the best way of comparing but still the direction is pretty much the same. Revealing the details on how to execute something that breaks the rules of how CCP designed it will in most cases only cause more problems, which in turn gives us longer petition queues and grief/whine threads, making more people feel less of the game.
Evil circle, I dunno. Personal thoughts.
I think a better comparison would be if a bank released a notice saying people who step on a certain tile will be shot...without telling customers which tile they can't step on. I see what people are complaining about here. Then again I don't know the full details of the exploit whether it can be something you would believe to be legitimate or a well thought out plan knowing it's abusing some sort of bug. _____________ Hai. |

Putting the boot on the other foot. If someone does it to me, how do I know that what they did was a petitionable offence?
