Quick question:
Is it a bug that the only mission I can fly for my R&D agent are the ones he automatically hands out once a day?
Other than that there's no "I need some work" option when I talk to him. I can only purchase datacores or quit researching.

Not even once a day.
You need to wait for the mail from the agent. THEN a mission is available..

Not always, if you do it regularly at approximatly the same time of the day you will get the mission even if the mail wasn't yet sent.

That's what I meant. The eve-mail is sent once a day.
The point is that a friend of mine told me that he flew missions for a R&D agent a while ago and that it worked just like with regular agents i.e. mission completed / asked agent / got another mission and so forth.
And now I wonder if that was a bug or if I am suffering from one.

Don't know if he was on drugs but he definitely flew missions as described.

In the 18 months that I've been running R&D agent missions, it's always been one mission a day with the eve-mail sent roughly the same time of day I completed the last mission.

With the R&D agents I've ever used it was once a day per agent (and that's going back to before lvl 4 R&D agents). I might have read somehwere that it's actually 20 hours but I've always taken it as once a day and no amount of strong arming those agents will make them dispense missions more frequently.
Most of my agents seem lazy with their mails, they only "send" them when I dock up and start talking to them.
What's confusing me with my current brood of R&D agents is that some give me "important" missions (the regular kind, nothing special R&D-wise), but some others won't. Doesn't worry me, just seems a bit inconsistent.

Jeez everybody make it complicated---U get a mission from an R&D agent about every 24 hours--I do 1 every day for each of the 4 agents I have... Also if u do nothing but these R&D agent missions u will get a storyline mission after 16 of them... I got another 1 today--courier mission.... R&D missions do not count towards corp standing but do count as indicated towards the 16 missions necessary for a storyline.. I suggest that u when u r getting close to the 16 missions that u switch over to regular missions that r lvl 3 or 4 and then u will get a much better storyline mission that is a kill mission rather than a courier (I did 16 st8 missions using R&D just to see what would happen and ended up with the dinky courier)

Although you cant do more then 1 mission a day with the R@D agnt you can do missions for other agents in that corp to raise your faction faster so you can use higher lvl agents .. security or survelliance are best , but some corps wont have them or higher lvl agents in those areas.. raise your faction get higher lvl agent, get more RP a day )..
