Back when I was a wee lad, I dreamt of a game where player interaction was everything, where every role in the game was occupied by players.
Then EVE came along, and when I got accepted into beta in phase 2, that's pretty much what EVE was. I was happy, but then slowly the NPCs invaded, replacing player's roles as they went along.
You continiously nerf pirates and buff carebears. Instajumps, uber warp core stabilizers, insane security hits and then POW!... removal of security status increases without warning. And now for the final death blow: you will completely replace us with NPCs. Yes, that's right, the carebears rather get ganked by a NPC than a player. You rather not say or hear a word than be able to taunt your killer or even negotiate with him. You rather be killed by someone who's brain patterns look similar to "bKillAll=True" than a human being.
All those "hidden", unwarpable areas that have popped up everywhere lately, derelicts, barren asteroids etc. You could spawn your NPCs there and make exploration fun again, but noooo, you rather spawn them at gates too make travelling dangerous, because obviously you can't let players make space dangerous in a massive MULTIplayer online game! Oh no, we can't have this game be anything else than Everquest in space now can we?
This is completely frelled. I hope you, CCP, realizes that catering to the carebears will grant you less subscribers in the long run. When all the pirates have left, sure you might be sitting there with 10k active players. But what do you think will happen when World of Warcraft is released? All the carebears will jump ship and you will be left with nothing, where as if you had catered to the players who rather interact with other players than NPCs, you'd still have them playing your game, because World of Warcraft will be quite crap in that department, or so I hear.
You should have stuck with your original plan. EVE as a hardcore player-vs-player game. This game will die a horrible death if it continues in the direction it's going.
I cancelled both my accounts in hope that when I got back, my security status would be fixed and I could "start over", but now that you decided to not implent that (which you said you would in the latest CSM), I guess I won't be back.
