This is the irony.
People in 0.0 alliances are so egotistical they don't stop and realize that they are a small minority of Eve, are rather crappy at PvP, will be gone and forgotten eventually, and completely unimportant to anyone but themselves.
I know because I was in a lot of 0.0 alliances. 0.0 alliances are made up of 1% hardcore PvPers (if they are lucky) and 99% carebears who think they are real tough and talk about how powerful they are all day while they mine, mission and NPC hunt.
It's pathetic.

It's across the board, though. Anybody who ends up on the wrong end of a pvp situation who does decide to talk smack will inevitably throw out their association with "something known" that they think will rattle your cage. That could be a 0.0 alliance, a merc group, a band of lowsec pirates, whatever.
Smack is smack, and let's be fair: it's a bit silly to imply that pirates are somehow immune.

I find my own ship losses to be humbling, I usually proceed to dock and log off to think about my mistakes.
My smack, in its rarity, is usually not going to come in the form of threats, ingame or otherwise. It is usually comprised of what I see as humorous or funny at the time, but is otherwise pretty benign.
People who are good at revenge seldom speak of it. People who suck at revenge warn you first.

This is true. Gate camping does not yield a high percentage of good PvP. In fact it's barely PvP at all. It's chaining tards. But I'm not delusional or in denial about what I do for fun/isk. I don't think I am all that great at PvP. I've had some good moments but I always know there is some kid out there with half the SP who will unexpectedly waste me leaving me wondering WTF happened. That's life.

I prefer it when it's an alliance director and they actually try and follow through. Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

Some 0.0 people can be very full of themselves, instantly thinking that anyone not in 0.0 would be this incredible nub that doesnt know how to play just because he doesnt want to take part of blobs. Although this probably goes for any entity who try to use their position of power, I've just had more experience with the 0.0 kind.
People threatening about revenge in eve are the same people who say that their [dad/brother/stepdad] is gonna beat you up when he get wtfpwndintheeye by your snowball back in school. But warning one of revenge is always fail, as stated.

Never had anyone threaten me with their alliance. But I did have one person say they were petitioning me for "noob bashing" because I killed her and her friend in a low security asteroid belt.
I killed her friend in his frigate, then while I was deciding if I should sell his loot back to him, she came in a hauler to collect it. Proceeded to lock and pop her, then loot her wreck. While going back to the first wreck, we comes back in a rookie ship and I pop her yet again.
All through the entire process of them getting killed over and over, she keeps sending me evemails telling me how I'm a "horrible person" and that I should "stop hurting her so she can just get her friend's stuff". I think I still have her mails in my inbox.

Some Alt of Mean Corp. or whomever. Guy was in a second corp, outlaw, flashing red on autopilot in high sec while AFK, and had the balls to get upset over his subsequent PK. Never mind the ship didnt have a warp disruptor, or apparently I should have known the guy or something from the way he talked. 7 mails of smack from him alone and so many threats I lost count in just those mails.
And of course, the threat of Mean Corp stomping my then alliance in to the ground. I figure they had better things do to.
