Napalm SW has stolen all of the Solar Wind ships, modules, BPs and BP Originals.
How can corp members protect themselves from CEO's who try to ruin the game for a whole corp?
Evidently he wants to make money from E-Bay from the Corps assets.

either that or suffer with swg's solution make any criminal behavour (roll playing or not) a bannable offense.
ie: if i try to trade with another swg player, and run off with the goods, i get banned from the game, even if my character is a crook.. so much for roll playing huh? same if I ripped off my guild...
it amazes me that a game (world) founded on the epic strugle of good and evil, would prohibit actualy acting in a manner consistant with the rool of your faction or character.
short of it is, sure it sucks, but if the possibility for stealing was not there it would be a very carebare universe out there ------------------------------------------------ There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers just exactly what the universe is for and why we are here, that it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. Could you have several guys camp the station hes in 24/7 and kill either him or the buyer when they attempt to transport the goods? They would still lose alot but at least maybe save some of the BP's. Unless its in empire? Just an idea.

Yes it's a game and yes you can play a thief. But you don't steal it ALL, that's beyond RP, decimating months of work.

One step to deal with this would be to make it so that no-one who have held a directorial or CEO position with a corporation are allowed back to work for NPC corporations but forced to make their own way and as such being open targets.

Griz - that's a ****ty situation to find yourself in. Under no circumstances should your corporate efforts be turn in to someone Else's real life cash.
Although I see in game rip off's as part of the game (a tough part albeit) this is tantamount to being worked and scammed in real life. I'm sure CCP won't put up with this - just make sure they get to hear about it.

The same thing happened to us 3 months ago. After getting over the initial shock, we've never looked back. Much of what he took was only 'stuff' anyway, that would still just be sat in our hangars. The rest we replaced pretty quickly.
So give two fingers to the guy who clearly wasn't worthy of being your CEO anyway, and make the corp a better place from here on.

I disagree with the comments that have been made about it being "part of the game" to be cheated like this. It would be "part of the game" if there were an action that Solar Wind could take in revenge.
Sure they could track the guy down and kill him a few times but it's very easy for the guy to switch to an alt. And death really isn't that big a deal in any game. Every action should have an equal and opposite reaction.

Edited by: Darrin Tobruk on 15/04/2004 23:08:21 Damn that sucks. Hanger theives are preventable, except if it's the CEO. I always tell my people to keep their own possessions in their own hangers, but there's not much you can do if the CEO decides to empty the corp assets the corp has made for itself.
This guy is a low down scumbag that abused the trust of the people he's responsible for. IMO, he's the lowest form of life in Eve.

Ummm, the CEO owns and controls all the corp assets.
He didn't steal anything.
He created the corp and anything that was given to the corp was given to the CEO.
The CEO has the power to disband the corp, kick people out of the corp, or leave the corp at any time leaving it's members out in the cold.
If you bought BP originals and gave them to the corp, then they don't belong to you anymore. I personally don't give my BP originals to the corp. I'll make BP copies and give to the corp though.
If you sold/donated ore/minerals to the corp and the corp made ships then those ships don't belong to you. They belong to the CEO.
If you placed your personal ship in the corp hanger and it was taken, then I'll agree that a theft has taken place. I'd also agree that you learned a lesson the hard way. Never put your personal stuff in the corp hanger unless you accept the risk that it may be taken by someone else.
In real-life, the CEO of the company that I work for (privately held) can sell the company and all it's assets to someone else or even close the doors and sell or keep the assets. What rights do I have as an employee of the company to tell the owner of the company what he can or can't do with the assets? Can I go to the local police and charge my CEO with the theft of my chair, desk, computer, phone, ...? I guess I could, but I'd be laughed out of the court room.

You reorganize over a weekend or a week at most.
You don't seize all corp assets for two months, change yourself to a different corp, and not explain whats going on... and call it a reorg.
I got out when things started to smell fishy. You royally screwed Solar Wind with your so called "reorg", especially the ex high command guys and the newbies. They built the corp not you. You hardly ever played, but take all the assets.
If you are truely trying to reorg the Corps, I apologise, but...2 months.....

What Nonsense,
Our CEO has planned to make a new corp for industrial purposes awhile ago. Free of wars and alliance struggles. Great, happens everyday. So what?? The only assests of SW that were removed was the BS BPO's and some of the copies. Because he was increasingly suspicious of someone in his high command skimming off the top. Excessive amounts of money was removed and things were not adding up.
Our CEO transfered the most valuable BP's to the new corp hangar where they would be safely researched under his watchful eye.
Unsure whether or not there actually was a thief amongst us, he froze corp assests and removed "take access only" from the hangars with the BPc's... Never removed modules just took away the grantable role (grantable by CEO) to take. Everyone could still view them, Thinking perhaps this would flush out the person responsible knowing there cash crop was gone.
Approx 2 weeks later Grizwold left the corporation and joined m0o.
Then he decides to post slander on the Eve forums about our corp? This was a highly respected member of our corporation... Actions speak alot louder than words my friend. Why is the rest of us in the corp if what you say is true? Few of our members have gone on to do different things, but all of them keep in touch and speak to us daily. Except you. When will people learn to shut up and move on, all he proved to do with this post is make himself out as an antagonist and point suspicion inward. Now not only do we know, the rest of Eve does.
Open mouth, insert foot.

While true, it still sucks.
It may be 'within the rules', it may be 'just business', but this kind of behaviour makes the game just a little less fun and will scare new players away. I guess I just don't 'get it'. Call me a carebear, wimp, whatever. But in the long run this will just hurt the game as a whole and everyone that loves it...

Qore, Talk to the other ex high command of SW, why are they still ****ed off. You've just come back to play, others have been cut off for 2 months while Nap took 2 months off with the Corp assets.
I left because I was accused of taking money, when all I was doing was investing money to buy articles for the corps. If Napalm had played more than 1 day out of 30 a month, may be things would have worked out different.
I repaid the corp all monies and more, ask the other high command lads. I didn't like the sudden change in the corp when the other directors quit and Nap changed corps and cut the rest of you off the BPs etc. I left SW with about 3m in my pocket. I gave 60m to another high command person to hold for the SW corp peeps (the ones ripped off)until it was decided whether Nap turned out to be a thief or legit.
This isn't about me but rather a screwed up system of Corp assets and a CEO who abused it.

Griz your digging deeper.
#1 The new corp is only 30 days old. Was about a week later he took the BPO's to research. Only the BPO's.
So what? BPO's have always been controlled by the CEO. Thats why he's the CEO cause he CAN be trusted. He DOESN'T WHINE on the eve forums cause he got his hand caught in the cookie jar. HE OWNS THE COOKIE JAR!
He's done tons for this corp, and is continuing to do so. No other HC members has a problem but you.
So keep it up, lets go deeper into your poorly constructed attempt to soil the name of my corp and my CEO.
Your just plain wrong Griz, everything was moved to avoid sticky fingers, and your the one who has taken the most offense to it.

well then... seening as im the only other HC that was around at the time this was going on...i have to save napalm..that was pretty ****ty restructuring(if i can even call it that)
first of all napalm you accuse grizwold of actually stealing from the corp wallet, meanwhile u fail to look at the assets and see all that money was spent on things that can be resold for much higher prices but hell... u wouldn't know anything about market(i'll remind you that you have bought battleships on multiple occasions for higher than market prices and then have the people who actually play the game try and resell them to lessen the losses..)
Quote: You were gone from the corp several weeks ago and I have not heard a word from you since.... Why are you bring up this nonsense now.
i believe he is doing this as a last resort considering you wound'nt answer any forum posts, blocked us in game and hell not even be online?
Quote: BTW I see you Left M0o Corp Before you made this post. People are free to check your history to see when you left and where you left for :)
sadly we have more honor than u could ever amount napalm...
this is aimed at qore's constant ranting and uninformed mind
qore:: how can you even begin to judge things based on what napalm has told you?
you who were never online for how many months while this was going on? And as for what napalm took it was not only the BPO's he emptied the corp wallet took all the battleships took all of everything about hangar level 1 crap
Quote: Unsure whether or not there actually was a thief amongst us, he froze corp assests and removed "take access only" from the hangars with the BPc's..
there was never a theif... it is all in napalms deranged mind and what is this about freezing corp assets... i might have been fine if he just took away take access but no.. he put EVERYTHING into his own hangar AND left the corp without saying a word...
Quote: Why is the rest of us in the corp if what you say is true?
because napalm has you tied around his little finger because u believe everything he tells you
Quote: The new corp is only 30 days old. Was about a week later he took the BPO's to research. Only the BPO's.
lol im amazed you even begin to know this as u WEREN'T online for any of it...he took everything logged off for about a week and THEN made the new corp all without saying a word to any of us high command...
Quote: He's done tons for this corp, and is continuing to do so. No other HC members has a problem but you.

lol best ceo my ass.. he is on less than VENIEL... he hasnt done **** for the corp for about 9 months since we got the apoc bpo...and even then thirdstorm was a better leader than he ever could be...
all this said i am not argueing that napalm is selling all the stuff he didnt earn on ebay, just that you are all brainwashed fools following a person who definately cannot be trusted more than u can trust a curse alliance member who wants a loan... also... no1 from solarwind here actually saw the wallet and top hangars that napalm stripped when this happened because they were all to far down the command chain to see any problems with what napalm was telling them...

Edited by: Qore on 18/04/2004 04:53:14 For those of you just tuning in, Squirrel is Grizwold's son. I haven't seen him on for months, I notice he's also now in a respectable newb corp.
Fell free to toss around as much BS as possible kids, does nothing but prove your ignorance. Funny how there's a corp full of members that don't agree with you and your sitting in a newb corp tossing stones at us. lol
This has already gone to far. So I'll just agree with you.... "Ahem"...."Yes our corp assests are all gone, we have no more BPO's they're all gone. Sold on Ebay, oh my, oh dear.... but the rest of our entire corp is brainwashed and we feel the need to still stay in the corp. We are blind and when we look inside the hangars we only think we see all those modules and BP's. Sorry but your glorious attempt to free our minds from the Matrix has failed. We still think a spoon is a spoon" Happy? Now if you'll excuse me I have a game to play with my friends.

Qore,
I have no probs with the good lads in SW just the way Napalm SW has handled the " reorg".
2 final points
- you've never seen Squirrel on "for months" says a lot, considering he is on 6-8 hours a day...lol
and Napalm SW left the corp Solar Wind to join Genesis. Seeing all of the corp assets disappearing and the CEO leaves the corp to join another one with 6 guys - does not instill a lot of confidence in the action.
I hope that Solar Wind continues and Napalm returns all of the corp assets to SW.
When I left I posted an a point on our forums that the corp's assets belong to the corp not the CEO, who merely acts as an administrator for them, not the personal property. Thats the way it should be.
Qore, this wasn't supposed to be a ****ing contest between SW and ex SW and I hope things turn out OK and I'm totally wrong, but things still seem fishy. I hope that Nap is not a thief or manipulator and just incompetant.
Ask around to other CEOs and directors, it doesn't take 2 months to Reorg, and its very rare for the CEO to leave the corp to join another and still retain the assets, its possible I guess ( the 3 Ronas comes to mind) but raises suspicions.
Qore, hope your posting in Japan goes well and Katt continues to kill CA.
Best of luck to SW and I sincerely hope things turn out fine eventually.
PS - SQ does like to smakk talk, he gets like that sometimes...lol
BTW - we left to kill CA, and continue to do so...(something about enemy of my enemy comes to mind...lol)
PSS - The reference to me being a thief is funny considering I had access to everything (except the BPO for ships) and ran the corps finances when Napalm disappeared after Xmas for a month. If I was a thief, I would not have left the Corp with only 3m in my pocket...lol
cheers and good luck to SW

Maybe the devs can add an ownership tag to items. I.E. when you put something in corp hanger, it asks you if you wish to give up ownership. If you select "no" then other corp members take into there hanger and use it, but cannot transfer it to anyone else until the original owner gives up ownership of it.
This would stop them taking thing to sell on ebay etc.
