Napalm SW has stolen all of the Solar Wind ships, modules, BPs and BP Originals.
How can corp members protect themselves from CEO's who try to ruin the game for a whole corp?
Evidently he wants to make money from E-Bay from the Corps assets.

either that or suffer with swg's solution make any criminal behavour (roll playing or not) a bannable offense.
ie: if i try to trade with another swg player, and run off with the goods, i get banned from the game, even if my character is a crook.. so much for roll playing huh? same if I ripped off my guild...
it amazes me that a game (world) founded on the epic strugle of good and evil, would prohibit actualy acting in a manner consistant with the rool of your faction or character.
short of it is, sure it sucks, but if the possibility for stealing was not there it would be a very carebare universe out there ------------------------------------------------ There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers just exactly what the universe is for and why we are here, that it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. Could you have several guys camp the station hes in 24/7 and kill either him or the buyer when they attempt to transport the goods? They would still lose alot but at least maybe save some of the BP's. Unless its in empire? Just an idea.

Vice,
Read what you quoted again.
5nake is saying SWG bans criminals and he disagrees with that process.

there is a difference between a carebear universe and destroying the work of a whole group of individuals who put time and work into EVE.
we all play to have fun, EVE is not here to mimic the real world.
just find out who the CEO is in RL and send a bounty hunter to collect him or some other nasty surprises ....(whoops, am I mixing EVE mentality with RL here.... ) ______________________________________________ Hellmar > sorry for the attitude, playing a n00b character through the current state just left me a bit bitter dev chat: Mar 18, 2004

Mentioning E-BAY is against the forum rules
However, notify a gm or something so they keep an eye on him. If he tries to sell anything on ebay, he will get busted.
Wont help you. But at least you spoiled it for him

Well, if he wants to try to sell the stuff on E-bay, let the devs know any personal info you have on him, his ingame char info etc, and then try to catch him on E-bay for a "screw you" last toot. If they can catch him trying to actually sell stuff, then he will get his. Vice-Admiral

Corp thefts suck. Plain and simple.
Yes it's a game and yes you can play a thief. But you don't steal it ALL, that's beyond RP, decimating months of work.

One step to deal with this would be to make it so that no-one who have held a directorial or CEO position with a corporation are allowed back to work for NPC corporations but forced to make their own way and as such being open targets.

Griz - that's a ****ty situation to find yourself in. Under no circumstances should your corporate efforts be turn in to someone Else's real life cash.
Although I see in game rip off's as part of the game (a tough part albeit) this is tantamount to being worked and scammed in real life. I'm sure CCP won't put up with this - just make sure they get to hear about it.

Emtpy what's left, set up a new corporation, change all your offices and relations over to the new one and ditch Solar Wind, the name is tainted and already got you confused with Solar Winds.

wow man hmmm that does hurt for sure. well what you could do is buy an item off him from ebay then prove to ccp that hes selling items on ebay and slam him that way. now i dont know if this will do anything or not or even possibly get you into trouble for buying items on ebay. man i dunno
sorry to hear about your troubles. gl in what ever you end up doing

The same thing happened to us 3 months ago. After getting over the initial shock, we've never looked back. Much of what he took was only 'stuff' anyway, that would still just be sat in our hangars. The rest we replaced pretty quickly.
So give two fingers to the guy who clearly wasn't worthy of being your CEO anyway, and make the corp a better place from here on.

I disagree with the comments that have been made about it being "part of the game" to be cheated like this. It would be "part of the game" if there were an action that Solar Wind could take in revenge.
Sure they could track the guy down and kill him a few times but it's very easy for the guy to switch to an alt. And death really isn't that big a deal in any game. Every action should have an equal and opposite reaction.

Edited by: Darrin Tobruk on 15/04/2004 23:08:21 Damn that sucks. Hanger theives are preventable, except if it's the CEO. I always tell my people to keep their own possessions in their own hangers, but there's not much you can do if the CEO decides to empty the corp assets the corp has made for itself.
This guy is a low down scumbag that abused the trust of the people he's responsible for. IMO, he's the lowest form of life in Eve.
If you guys need a hand getting back on your feet, contact me in game. Stonecutters aren't a rich corp, unless you count friendship, and ALL of us would be happy help. _______________________________________________ Eris Discordia: On the scale of funny and constructive it scores low, real low. |
