As you all can see, I am a budding Eve player, and I am also a budding marketeer. As such, I've been trying to follow the goings ons of the marketplace, and I am a little confused. From what I can gather, the evil menance Goonswarm has set out to attack people mining this isotope, an isotope which is required to maintain active Caldari POSs. Prices are expected to rise due to the lower supply. What I don't get is:
1. Why are they doing this? 2. Is there any evidence that this is actually happening? 3. How should I, a newb marketeer (with shallow pockets) take advantage of this?
Thx ahead of time for your help, and keep in mind if you do decide to help me, chances are I won't be in competition with you (small bankroll) :p |

1. For fun.. also for profit of the fluctuating prices
2. Look at a market graph, yes. Also they have a rather large pile of killmails too. Part of it might be them buying/selling/manipulation market as well. It is probably not 100% due to their suicide ganks.
3. Build the ships and mods they are using on the suicide ships... or build stuff for the ships that get blown up. I would recommend staying away from buying a lot of isotopes and speculating because it tends to not be worth it if you don't do it in large amounts. It can also tie up large sums of isk for long periods of time, which is bad if you have little capital to start with. |

Sadly you are wrong.
With authority I can say anyone now joining the Nitrogen Isotopes market is not too late.

Isotopes stopped being a trade at 680 and begun being a gamble from that level upwards.

Well, Eso, what will really bake your noodles is when some idiot starts spreading the word that HELIUM isotopes will be the next tope to be manipulated with grandiose schemes of ganking ice miners and traders running around like rabid dogs in Jita... oh... damn...

... Well, down 60 in a couple of h, so... It will not be as easy as the Oxygen stunt. The volumes are way higher, 2,1-2,5 times. 2,1- 2,5 x more miners to kill..
+ There will be a transfer from many many regions to Jita. It will go down, before it goes up. I`ll get into the action when it hits 700 Buy. ( Perhaps ) |

VV sorry but Bob is right. It is not too late, but those who join now risk more exposure and (perhaps) less gain than those who did so earlier. It is not a bubble. It is a manipulation and an ongoing one at that.
It's not over until it is over. Patri

And since when a trader is meant to provide his liquidity to people openly stating they are manipulating the market? Buy on rumor, sell in panic? Thought the trader motto was a bit different than this.
If I wanted to gamble, I'd join Selene's poker or Somer's Blink. Less effort, more colorful than some graphs.
If will gladly be a liquidity provider, but like those who do it in RL as profession in i.e. the futures markets. You pay a fee for the duration, then give the money back. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Having consulted the frog entrails myself I can say the market is still looking bullish.
At one point I happened upon what looked like a downward trend, but it was only a bit of spleen ruining the otherwise crystal clarity of my visions.

Honest advice, OP?
Ignore the theatrics of Goons and thier moon fuel fetish. Stay on liquid assets and wait to see what Dust draws in for investment. The only thing Nitrogen topes are used for are Rhea Jumps. |

Anyone getting in at this point is an idiot. Not a fan of VV's, but she's right here.
The climb due to fundamentals is over, and now you're just betting on sustained speculation with the ever-present risk of the floor falling out from under you.
The only people who should be buying are Goons, as they're the ones with a hand on the trap-door lever. |

... Its not that easy, or demands huge dedication to try to make an impact on Nitro. The volume is to high. + to fast that even now at 675 buy at Jita I dont want it, and few are. And within a week we are back were it started. |

If you do decide to try your fingers in the Ice product pie, scoop some cheap Strontium Clathrates. Planet siege in Dust will involve Dreadnought Siege Modules, either the ones in the game or a new planetary one but they use Stront to Siege and if CCP try anything first out to slow the tide of us nuking thier little dust bunnies in to oblivion it will be cost prohibitive measures like more stront. So while you shouldn't sell the farm to buy stront, if you can get it cheap and afford to hold it, I suspect it will spike with Dust.
