All of the politcal entanglements from being in the CA does cast Oracle in bad light. I understand this. However, we are used to being hated and dispised from the Amarrian loyalists as well as MASS, Evolution, and the other pro-slavery corps, so the scorn or lack of it isn't a driving force behind our motivations.
I personally don't involve myself much in the CA things. My time is either spent defending my brothers and sisters in Oracle from attacking forces, or doing my work in Empire space. I never mine for profit, only for the things I need to continue my work. I can't name an Oracle member who lives for profit either, all their hard work is for ships to use in the fights we are almost constantly in. Ours is a life of strife. Of conflict. A calling which shapes us by the fires of hate that surround us, and forges weapons of freedom which strike when and where we can have the best effect.
If you doubt that Oracle is still dedicated to our goals of the freedom of every captive Minmatar and other slaves, then you should open your eyes.
Large scale fleet operations while impressive to look at, usually doesn't free people.
Let me just say that Oracle has started phase two of our anti-slavery campaign. The details are still not available for discussion yet, but soon we will make them available. When these details are released, perhaps again public opinion will sway to our favor, perhaps it won't. In either case the phase will proceed and we will continue our work as we have always done.
As for the scorn of alliances and cartels:
I too wonder what will become of the future in unclaimed space. Yet I am certain that alliances will play an important part. Many months ago, the CA's days were said to be numbered. At one time, 3/4ths of the other large regional alliances as well as many freelance and merc. corps were actively fighting the CA.
The CA has held, and expanded, grown, and matured. It still has room to grow, both in military, as well as governmental policies and political values. I think if any alliance has the chance to become the most stable and progressive, it is the CA. This is why I choose to stay within Oracle and the CA. --------------------------------------------------
