No rewards in low sec worth going there for blah blah blah. Ask any competant group of gate campers who have picked 'the correct' gate to camp and ask them about rewards. Everyone keep saying that there is no worthwile ore/agents/exploration/whateveah to draw empire noobs to it.
But.
In reality the resorce to draw in players to low sec are the hoards of dumb empire players looking to take a shortcut with millions or even billions of isk in their untanked t1 indy or shuttle/noobships cargohold. Hence gate camps. Want to avoid them? Park your ship in a station in the system next to the low sec gate and hop in a shuttle.
Jump.
You now have 30 seconds of cloak to calmly pick a random belt and warp to it at a random range. As your are doing this check local and hit the onboard scanner to do a 360 degree search at 100,000km for ships alinged to the gate off grid. Once at the belt wtz back to the gate to jump and make a judgment call to bring your main ship through. And don't worry about getting scrambled in your shuttle as very few camps take the pains to boost a dedicated ship to get a shuttle. Even if you do get unlucky and get popped as long as you have an object to warp to selected and keep spamming the warp button you will always save your pod. (exeption:Rancer smartbomb camps.)
That all it takes to beat a camp. Simple yes?

Gee I don't know, how about asteroid belts, planets, encounters, missions, exploration sites, bookmarked safe spots. Places where the mark isn't session changing straight into certain death and (if he is being smart) he has a chance to see trouble coming and escape.
Belt piracy and mission/encounter/exporation/safe spot busting are clearly not ganking in the same way as a gate camp. A mission runner can scan for probes and dock up if he feels in danger of being caught, (although you can be sure that some won't). A belt ratter can make a run for it when 5 sub zero sec status pirates enter local, (again some will have to be ganked a few times before they learn).
lol. ganking is ganking regardless of where it happens. The mechanics for avoiding certain death are numerous and stupidly easy to impliment so LRN2PLY EVE.

Did you actually have a point to make? Sorry I must have missed it. Firslty, most people would not equate a few pirates belt hunting or busting mission runners without the protection of their pirate blob 'ganking'. And secondly what are these numerous mechanics for avoiding certain death you speak of. People here have gone to the trouble of pointing out why scouts don't work, that cloaking recons aren't available to new players, that checking for hotspots on the map doesn't help the first few guys jumping into a camp, and that just wizzing through a camp in an inty is fairly pointless because there's nothing useful you can do in it. Nobody seems to have gone to the trouble of pointing out how any of that is erroneous or what other mechanics exist that can be used to ameliorate the situaiton.
So.. bit of free advice for you. LRNTOPOST
Did you actually have a point to make? Sorry I must have missed it. Of course scouts work. Please explain to me how using a scout to figure out a camp is on the other side doesn't keep your ship with the exspensive goodies in it from getting blown up? Jump in with a shuttle. Oh crap a camp. Logs off for a while until the camp dissolves or finds an alternate route. Or are you talking about how a scout won't let you get past a camp? If so then by god the camp is doing its job and the game mechanics have been validly served. Your in Firmus Ixion so I'm going to assume that your corp/alliance runs regular camps on the choke points its territory yes? Whats different about a camping blob made up of your corp members and a blob of pirates camping? Both are defending thier turf so both have a right to be there. Both make lots of isk when some numpkin jumps in with a crap ship with good loot. I'm just not seeing your argument unless your just ****y cause one of your empire alts got popped at a low sec camp. Also its spelled LRN2POAST so LRN2RPLY.
Have a Happy Day!

Originally by: Neutrino Sunset I guess you've missed some of what's already been said in this thead, do you have a response to this?
Yes I have and have had many responces to those and the zillion other threads in which everyone and there alt call the 'arguments' you bring up as pointless as well. Your being argumentitive simply for the sake of being argumentitive. If you want to live in low sec/0.0 the game mechanics provide you with the tools you need to live there. All it takes is a set of balls and the confidnece and brainpower to achieve it. And riddle me this Mr Firmus Ixion. Does your corps camps let the n00bs and numpkin players through due to their lack of skill or being new to the game? No? What? You kill everything you can lock up thats not set to blue regardless of any other considerations? So lmao at your 'arguments'
People like you playing this game in the same unverse as me is another reason I stay with this awesome Darwinian game called Eve. I mean how fun would the game be without players way lower on the evolutionary scale than me to ridicule and toughen up?

Try at all times to avoid blatant trolling and flame bait
It can be hard to resist when you post in detail exactly how to avoid said ganking but then someone comes along and posts an inane eft fit counter-argument they pulled out their arse. But noted anyways.

Have really no idea what people complain about on low sec. No bubbles so very low activity of real camps.
Same here. Way back in my earlier days before the drone regions wtfpwnd high end prices I used to take 2 ospreys and eventually 3 retreivers out to mine Hemorphite and refine it at the station in the same system. I would then load up the billions of isk of zyd into a tanked/stabbed mammoth and use another account in a shuttle to scout a route to the best buy orders. I lost a coule of insured ospreys and retrievers to crafty pirates but Never lost a ship to a camp. Ever. I'll also note that camps were very rare just as they are now though I don't mine in low sec anymore I just cruise around looking for people to annoy with 4 recons.

in the sense of travelling throught, perhaps (no bubbles!), but most definitely not in the sense of living in it.
Its just a reoccuring whine topic is all. I'm fairly sure that the 99.98% of the active playerbase who never ever visit the forums could give a rats arse about the 'opinions' of the 0.02% of the active forumbase on anything. We just come here to perfect our Forum Foo game whilst the overwhelming majority go play the real game. Both are fun to me though so I split my time btween them.
