H-PA29 - Venal
Agony Empire announces a new class of [link=http://www.agony-unleashed.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?70928]PVP-WOLFPACKS - April 19, 2008 - 19:00 Eve Time[/link]. Please go and sign up. This class will be the biggest WOLFPACKS class ever with tons of fun packed in. Ever calculate the average DPS of 100 Destroyers?
In addition Agony Empire announces a brand new class. PVP-ADVANCED will focus on the usage of Cruiser sized ships in PVP and will teach skills over and above what you learned in WOLFPACKS. The materials for the class are still under construction but we expect the class to fill fast.
Please be advised that this is in NO WAY a recruiting advertisement. Students of PvP University courses do NOT change corp to participate in the class and it is our stringent policy to never actively recruit a student of a class. Students will be in a gang with their instructors and other students. Please remember that AGONY has no one set to blue, so although you should not fire on blues, fellow students and AGONY will fire on them.

Something wrong with Amarr destroyers? Or is it just that the extra bling that an Amarr ship brings with shiny and lasers makes the other pilots jealous? ;)

Its the capabilities of the small ships in Amarr that let them down. I am a devoted Amarr pilot mself but below cruiser level their ships are a joke. The coercer is a huge joke. As a damage ship, the catalyst is better, as a nos/neut ship the thrasher does better. As an EWAR ship ... ok stop laughing damnit! 
Frigates and destroyers can cooperate in an engagemnt of heavier ships because of deplaoyed EWAR and cooperative capabilities. The Amarr ships are not designed to work in groups below cruiser level and even at cruiser level, only the Arbitrator and Omen are worth even flying. When you get larger and into tech 2, the situation starts to change. However, one thing is certain about Amarr ships is that they require the most skills to fly effectively of any race in the game. If you are using lasers and ALL of your capacitor skills as well as controlled bursts are not at 4 or better then you dont have a chance.
This is a salient point of Amarr that CCP devs constantly, and strangely, continue to miss.
If the coercer had another mid slot you could fit the AB you need to get close for the lasers and still mount some EWAR to cooperate with the gang. So you can bring an amarr destroyer if you want but the other dessys will outclass you badly.

Very very few who have tried it survived.  Most have died without causing a single casualty. One of the first thing a PVP-BASIC (a prereq to PVP-WOLFPACKS and PVP-ADVANCED) have been taught is to avoid smartbombinb battleships. And anyhing Nano with that many webs on it will be doing 2m/s rather than only 1m/s.

Both classes are filled to capacity. Look here for more classes in the future.
