Ekchuah Incorporated is, and has always been, opposed to forceful servitude, weather individual or collective.
The freedom of people to live their traditions and to have their own society structure is a fundamental right for which our ancestors fought; Denying this right to other people would be betraying our ancestors heritage and our core values.
Despite the good actions and speeches of certain Amarr pod-pilot dignitaries, it is now clear for us that Amarr paramilitary forces are mostly conservative forces and ultimately inclined to enslave all.
Recent discussion of the relative validity of the Pax Amarria and recent jurisprudence has shown that religious restrictions of slavery do not protect existing slaves or prevent the creation of new ones and that no Amarrian paramilitary representative has risen to condemn these events.
Ekchuah Incorporated has reset standings for all paramilitary forces supporting Slavery; these standings will stay neutral or negative until official renunciation of slavery and support of slavery.

Might be linked to the historical tendency of "your culture" to attempt the forceful entry of other cultures into slavery within "your culture". Glass houses and all that.

Leaving you to your own affairs is exactly our policy.
Our disapproval of slavery does not mean that we wish to fight the Empire; it means that we will not support it directly or indirectly.
Of course, if you try to export this institution by force, and slavery can only be exported by force then it is not only your own affairs anymore.
I understand that many Amarr pod pilots do not actually own slaves, do not personally practice forceful slavery, and have only the religious well-being of their servants as a goal.
But the unconditional support of an Empire who supports and practices forced hereditary slavery and condones treating slaves like livestock, even when this support is contrary to the will of your last two emperors shows that these few Amarr whose personal ôslavesö are really free retainers do support the slavers even if they are not slavers themselves.

Perhaps you could point us to where either Heideran VII or Doriam II, my God grant them eternal rest, said that they were against slavery?

Admiral Blake,
Bear the weight of your hipocrisy. It seems you make false excuses to beg people away from prudent and reasonable choices. Indeed, it seems your words ring hollow when the accusation you try to avoid in your statement before mine is indeed true. Amarrian "loyalists" have taken RSMI employees within the past thirty-six hours.
You could possibly find some political gain by seeing to the return of RSMI employees taken by your friends, the VV. You are an unreasonable man, but even the unreasonable have a survival instinct.
I humbly beg forgiveness for my interruption to CEO Tanashima and Ekchuah Incorporated. However, I will say that your choice is properly reasoned and prudent. I honor you for your wise course.

I'm unaware of the specific incident that you mention. However, VV are at war with RSMI - no doubt because of the acts of aggression perpetrated by the latter against the Empire. As such, I have no problem with VV taking prisoners of war. Would you rather they killed members of your corporation that surrender?
And I fail to see what any of this has to do with my words at the recent gathering in Amarr.

*Kohiko shouts at the comm terminal.*
Arrogant. Self-important. Pompous! Follow that file through its entirety, and you will see why any reasonable person has taken pause at the statements inside. You have holymen declaring the time to attack the entire cluster is at hand! Or, do you believe that we should ignore these statements as "no big deal" while accepting everything else you say as the one absolute truth? That is the hypocrisy: "We want peace." This is the truth found in those speeches: "Until we are free to Reclaim. As such, we will continue to say we want peace, so we might catch you asleep!"
As for our people from Isendeldik, I will not disrupt this corporation's statement any further and cloud the issue. I say this only to offer further context for those with reasoned thoughts, the only entry of a RSMI ship into Imperial space has been a single business arrangement by an unarmed ship. Is the Empire so weak that mining asteroids in Republic space or conducting a trade deal with an Amarrian merchant count as aggression against it? What are Amarrian "prisoners of war" other than slaves? What is this but a paramilitary's attempt to dance around the Treaty of Yulai that binds the true armies and navies unless it has gone rogue?
As for you, Obviously-A-Politically-Appointed-Officer -And-Likely-Illegitimate-Offspring-Of-Some -REAL-Admiral's-Cousin's-Concubine, how can you be such a blind fool? Do you need cybernetic eyes to see what is right in front of you? Or, do you have some implant in your speech center of the brain that overrides your mouth so that only child's games levels of denial spouts out?
*Kohiko takes a long pause for breath and composure before continuing in her normal considered tone, ducking her head and looking down in contrition.*
Again, I humbly beg CEO Tanashima to forgive my outburst. I abase myself to you and will make no more trouble.
*Throwing her hands in the air, Kohiko turns away amid a rapid-fire blast of Achur that the translation software has a hard time following. A few words, such as "rocks", "heads", "ears", and what may possibly be "the mating of gnats" can be caught before a hand swats down to cut the transmission.*

No, standings have been reset and we do not shoot at neutrals. We do not approve of slavery but we do not shoot everybody we do not approve of, we will keep from collaborating with slaver supporters and be vigilant for signs of forceful reclaiming however.

Edited by: Tablaren on 03/04/2008 18:12:52 The fact that you reset amarr organizations with no regard for any of their policies and with barbaric reasons with no regard for wether they are a religious order or not is cause for us to having reset your group as well. You'll find we are less forgiving of such hostile actions then the other paramilitaries.
I sincerly hope we do not meet in space, though I suppose the way the rest of you federates are acting you are in matari space and we'll run across you soon enough.

You would be half correct there. While some Caldari megacorporations do have investments in Amarrian corporations, most notably Lai Dai's investment in Carthum Conglomerate, this does not mean that the megacorporations necessarily support slavery. Slavery is illegal in the State, not in the Empire. Some Caldari corporations are willing to invest in Amarrian corporations, despite the presence of slavery within the society, just as some invest in Federation corporations, despite the laws hindering those corporations.
We do not stop dealing with Perkone, just because they have strong ties to the Federation market nor do we stop dealing with Ishukone because they have stations in Amarr space.
Originally by: Tablaren I sincerly hope we do not meet in space, though I suppose the way the rest of you federates are acting you are in matari space and we'll run across you soon enough.
Are you confused? Ekchuah Inc is a State corporation, not a Federation one.
Tanashima-haani, I do not understand the need for them to renounce slavery. My understanding is that the standing reset is a result of their intentions to renew a militant Reclaiming. Would it not be more prudent to set the condition of having a positive standing being renouncing any intention to take part in a militant reclaiming? However improbably this may be it at least address the issue instead of appearing to join the anti-slavery cause.
Lai Dai Infinity Systems has no standings set with the Amarrian paramilitaries, so it has no need to address the issue of resetting standings.
The recent statements by leading Amarrian paramilitaries indicates a desire to return to a forceful Reclaiming. This is a threat to the State.

Such "aggressive statements" spring up almost daily. And more often than not, they are directed at the Amarr Empire and its supporters. No wonder the latter respond in kind.

A shame that such peripheral issues appear so instrumental in your policymaking. Interest however, is the public announcement, while simultaneously downplaying the significance. Most surely, public calumny of Amarr will accentuate all the negative implications you have and continue to sow into the legacy of your corporation.
Not forgetting, Mr Tanashima, that you most likely cannot find a differentiating negative factor between that which you are deploring (based on your own misinformed perceptions of slavery) and effective slave labour practiced in the Caldari State, in all but name. It would be reassuring to see you be even handed in this matter, acknowledge your own flaws, deal with them honestly and transparently, before taking to an unsupported 'moral highground', paper-thin and vestigial morality.
Have you taken more than a cursory look at what you've decided to do? Most definitely not. Your action is based on a sentence, a collection of words. A rational person, especially a leader of an profit-making, self-labelled non-intrusive organisation such as your own, [if with any integrity], does not jeopardise its future. Aligning against Amarr, especially on such foolishly thought-out premises will bring no good to you, your reputation, your organisation and to those who you care about.
Quote: The freedom of people to live their traditions and to have their own society structure is a fundamental right for which our ancestors fought; Denying this right to other people would be betraying our ancestors heritage and our core values.
I laugh at this drivel. I don't see how you can make even a semblance out of this...contortion of truth beyond belief. You believe that denying the right for people to have their own society structure is a fundamental right? Why, pray, are pirate factions not allowed to flourish in the State? Why is it that you take moves that imply that Amarrian progressive influence is a threat to the State? Such nonsense! You come forth to the public today, making demands of the Greatest Empire and its paramilitaries to renounce slavery to gain a positive standing. What are you, and our organisation of any birth to treat with them so bluntly? None. You are a commoner amongst your own people - for only a commoner is blunt, uncouth and disrespectful as you. Furthermore, you are a disgrace to your people. I have always felt at ease doing business Caldari organisations, the Ammatar trade Syndicate amongst them, who do not point their noses to the air with unbased accusations, requirements, to do business. They respect the sovereignty and rights of others.
'Slavery' as practiced in the Empire is humane and progressive. The ultimate goal for slaves held in programmes I know of in the Mandate is education, rehabilitation and reintroduction into society as loyal citizens of the Empire. The explotative gallente and caldari, neglective matari cannot make any mention of an achievement of such commendable value. No, only the corrupt servant sisters of eve are not paragons of the true virtues.
The Caldari I have dealt with are aloof, patriotic, practical or liberal. You are none.
May the foolishness of this action become obvious to you soon, that you may make amends and apologise for this demonstration of undeserving disrespect to the Holy Empire.

Treason?
Mr. Tablaren, the Amarr (as they've been known to point out on occasion) aren't formally allied with the Caldari State. In point of fact, the State's closer with the Khanid than with the Empire proper.
If I'm not badly mistaken, this is a reaction to certain comments found here, predominantly by pilots of Vigilia Valeria, which would tend to cause concerns as to Amarr intentions among Caldari pilots. While this might be considered an overreaction considering that most of the Amarr corps have declared opposition, at least until a new emperor is selected, to a resumption of Reclaiming-by-conquest, you might also take it as an indication of just how nervous talk of Reclaiming heathens makes the heathen Caldari.
Please look both ways before declaring who's causing strife, Mr. Tablaren. Intemperance can come from any, or every, side.

I don't see any reason for anyone to be concerned with those quotes. Indeed, calderi and people all over the cluster should take heart in the fact that these proud pilots wish to enlighten others and show them the true faith.
If anything, people should be grateful that there are those who wish to better their lives in such a way.

Tablaren:
"True faith" ... pilot, do you have any idea how much you sound like the Gallente, with their "inalienable rights?"
Between you, Scagga, and this Lordus Mark character ... gods and spirits, how exactly is this reaction supposed to ease the worries of Mr. Tablaren or any other Caldari who's got doubts about cosying up to the Empire? You'd think resetting standings to neutral was a declaration of war.
Since Mr. Tablaren and various other Caldari seem to be too polite to say this to all concerned, let me make it plain and simple, and any Caldari who disagree or object to having an Angel speak for them can find their own voices:
The Caldari do not follow your "true faith," do not care about your "individual freedoms," and do not wish to be "liberated," "shown the true path," or otherwise "helped" out of our supposedly benighted state. We know both of your civilizations to be historically willing to enforce your cultural values on others by force of arms. We are watchful for attempts to practice such habits on us, and we will kill you if you try.
While, as a rule, the Caldari do prefer to side with the Amarr, if only because the Gallente must be kept in check, this is by no means to indicate that official standings, made to an Amarr Empire willing to pursue its Reclaiming through peaceful missions and the like, will be applied to the sort of overzealous capsuleers who dream of conquest of all humanity. Likewise, even if we don't necessarily condemn your practice of slavery, it still makes us blasted nervous because we can't help but think that you'd like to apply the practice to ourselves, our families, and our homeworlds.
Clear e-bloody-nough?
