You inty gets a web on a Vaga - giving you about 10 seconds to get in range of Vaga and throw another web on him. After those 10 secs your inty is toast.
Happens ALL the time.
Now extra shield does not work one bit, as Drakes are primaried last. If being in Drake you are targeted - then probably all you gangmates have been just killed and you are 1 against 20 with heavy EW on their side.
Extra shields my rear.
But I guess things are different in lowsec, where you need an extra buffer to kill that ratting Myrm.

I never said "Inty + Drake versus Vaga"
Usually it's more like 10-man gang versus Vaga - and unless at least 5 of those 10 have webs, Vaga will laugh its rear off and run away.
And - yes, you can web a REAL Vaga with a Drake. I'll tell you a secret - real Vagas are not those 10 km\s-never-stopping-always-40+km-from-you monstrosities you read about on these forums. You heard about overheating, right?
About tank - yeap, most of the time you don't need tank in a Drake. (Unless its a bait ship). This is not PVE where you can make enemy to attack the most tanked ship. This is PVP, where the primary list goes:
EW ships - logistics - damage dealers - ... - industrials - Drake - shuttles and noobships.
After all your gangmates are dead - why do you need a tank?
And no - you will not be taking "a few of them with you" (what movie have you got that heroic BS from???)
Once you are alone - you are scrambled, webbed, ECMed, Nossed, dampened and everybody in the enemy gang are trying to get into your killmail.

p.s. you can't orbit something at 5 km doing 7 km\s.
Not even with full Nomad set + 2 polys + hardwirings(hek, make it T2 polys even)
